Congress will be defeated in coming assembly polls: Bidhuri

Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today slammed the Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi for misleading the residents of resettlement colonies in the garb of handing them over the ownership deeds. He said this is just cosmetic gesture as the scheme has been announced two months ahead of the assembly polls. In fact it will put additional burden on the residents of the resettlement colonies due to faulty guidelines.

Shri Goel said, “The Congress government talks of giving ownership papers to the residents of the resettlement colonies that came up between 1960 and 1985, but it is silent on the JJ Clusters and resettlement colonies that came up between 1990 and 2007 in Delhi.”

“Those, who bought plots from the residents of the resettlement colonies before 2007, will have to pay 30 percent of current circle rates and those, who bought plots after 2007, will have to pay 100 percent of the circle rate to get the ownership papers. These amounts are not in thousands but in lakhs of rupees,” Shri Goel added.

Shri Goel further said, “Those, who sold their plots multiple times before or after 2007, will be charged 100 percent circle rates. This means that they are being coerced to cough up lakhs of rupees.”

Shri Goel said that this scheme has been conceived keeping in mind the upcoming assembly polls as there are thousands of houses in the 45 resettlement colonies which have been sold out. These houses were sold floor-wise, for which the government has made no guidelines.

Shri Goel said that the Delhi government is in the business of befooling people of JJ Clusters and resettlement colonies ahead of every election with false promises. The people of Delhi want to know from the Chief Minister, who is also the chairperson of the Delhi Jal Board, that  from 1998 when the monthly water bill of an average household in these colonies was Rs 7.50 , it has shot up to Rs 1500 per month.

The residents of these resettlement colonies also want to know as to why in 2005 the water bill was calculated at 20 kilolitres per month and thereafter 10 kilolitres per floor? This means, if there are four floors on a plot, the residents will have to pay water bill for 40 kilolitres per month, which translates into Rs 1,500-2,500 per month.

Shri Vijay Goel also wanted to know as to what happened to the Delhi government’s promise made in 2008 to build and allot 60,000 houses under Rajiv Ratna Housing Scheme?

Shri Goel also questioned as to why of the 29,000 people living in slums, who applied for housing in 1985, only 8,500 were allotted houses, and also why the advance taken from the rest 20,000  applicants was not returned immediately?

Had the Chief Minister been a well-wisher of the poor, she would neither have burdened the residents of the resettlement colonies with the lakhs of rupees being charged for ownership papers nor allowed unprecedented hike in power and water tariffs. The people of Delhi have seen through the machinations of the Chief Minister and the Congress party and the people will give them a befitting reply in the upcoming assembly polls.

.  Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former legislator Shri Ramvir Singh Bidhuri formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party today along with three NCP councillors Shri Dharamveer Awana, Smt. Timsy Kasana, Smt Phoolkali Narwaal.

While Bidhuri expressed gratitude at the warm welcome extended to him by the party, Delhi BJP State President Shri Vijay Goel said that his coming into the BJP  has not only strengthened the party but will also dampen the spirits of Congress government whose days in office are already numbered.

Shri  Bidhuri was formally inducted in the party at a function organized at party’s national office and graced by the National President Shri Rajnath Singh, former BJP National President and Delhi election in-charge Shri Nitin Gadkari, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Prof. V K Malhotra, former Delhi Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan, and former Delhi State President Sh. Vijender Gupta. Thousands of Bidhuri supporters, some of them beating drums and dhols added to the festive atmosphere at the 11 Ashoka Road office while raising slogans in support of the BJP.

BJP National President Sh. Rajnath Singh said that he was happy to learn about the Sh. Bidhuri joining the party and gave his nod promptly to induct him. While urging the partymen to keep up the fight against Congress, he said that leaders like Sh. Bidhuri, who has huge credibility, are an asset to any party and will prove so for BJP.

Sh. Gadkari said that this is just the beginning and many other leaders from different parties who want Delhi residents to get rid of Congress misrule would be joining hands with BJP in days to come. “This is just a trailer, movie is yet to begin. The BJP will sweep the coming elections and it will draw huge support in days ahead,” he said.

Welcoming the former Delhi MLA from Badarpur into the party, Sh. Goel said that he was never under any doubt about Sh. Bidhuri and the three NCP councilors joining the party as they too are disenchanted by the corrupt rule of Congress government and BJP is the only available alternative. “Shri Bidhuri and the NCP councilors have joined BJP without any conditions but with the motive to defeat the corrupt Congress government. They rightly believe that BJP is the only alternative before the people of Delhi today and they want to extend their support to us. I thank them for their right decision as BJP will be hugely strengthened by their support,” said Sh. Goel adding that Sh. Bidhuri has considerable following among the OBC population of the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Bidhuri said that the flawed policies and corrupt practices of Congress have convinced him to join hands with BJP so that Congress could be defeated in Delhi Assembly elections. “The economic policies of the successive Congress government are taking the country towards a precipice and if this continues for another year or so, there will be no comeback. People are looking upto BJP to uproot this government and we want to join them in their noble fight,” said Sh. Bidhuri on his joining the BJP.
