After Vikas rally, galvanized BJP cadres to get down to assembly level campaigning

·         After Vikas rally, galvanized BJP cadres to get down to assembly level campaigning
·         BJP to focus on power, water, corruption, inflation, women safety
·         Goel expresses gratitude to Delhi’ites for making Vikas Rally historic success

After the grand success of Vikas Rally on September 29 at the Japanese Park in Rohini the Delhi BJP has decided to move on to the next phase of its campaigning to carry forward the momentum generated by this rally.

In a statement issued today, Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel said, “The party’s assembly poll campaign would now move on to the assembly segment level. The BJP has identified five key issues to focus on in the coming days which are-Power, Water, Inflation, Corruption and Women’s safety.”

Shri Goel said, the BJP cadres will hold meetings in every assembly segment over the next few days and take these issues to the common people. Shri Narendra Modi who had addressed Vikas Rally on Sunday had also spoken on these issues.

“The Congress is in a state of panic following the success of Vikas Rally. In fact it is very scared as the writing on the wall is clear that all sections of society have joined together hands to boot out the corrupt Congress party whose policies are anti-people.”

Expressing his gratitude to Delhi’ites and all BJP cadres, Shri Goel said, “The party is buoyed by the fact that large number of people from those sections attended the rally yesterday which till mow were not considered to be traditional BJP voters in the city.”

The presence of large number of people from Muslim community, youth and weaker sections of the society in this rally is a clear evidence that people have at large lost faith in Congress.

Shri Goel also slammed the Congress leadership for putting up some hoardings and posters which were in bad taste, a night before the Vikas rally. “In its desperation to cling to the power, Congress has resorted to cheap tactics. This is deplorable. The Congress is using its dirty tricks department and is stooping down to new lows.”

Goel spearheads efforts to redeem lost glory of Qudsia Bagh, inaugurates Jogging Track

Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today inaugurated the Jogging Track at Qudsia Bagh in north Delhi as part of the efforts to redeem the lost glory of the medieval garden built by Qudsia Begum, the wife of Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah Rangeela in 1748. The former inauguration by Shri Goel was the culmination of a process that began with the creation of Facebook Page, “Qudsia Bagh” in Febraury this year to create awareness about the historical garden in Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Goel said, “I have been among the regular visitors of the Qudsia Bagh and the dilapidated condition of the garden has been a matter of concern for many. It is important to restore and preserve the historical value and charm of the garden.”

Call for restoration and revival of the Qudsia Bagh began with concerned citizens and morning walkers at the garden raising concerns for the welfare of Qudsia Bagh.  A meeting was called on April 12, 2013 to discuss these concerns with Authorities of MCD, Mayor and the Standing Committee Chairman. Shri Vijay Goel was invited for the meeting.

It was decided in the meeting that the concerns relating to the revival and upkeep of Qudsia Bagh to suit the modern day requirements of citizens should be taken care of by forming a Society involving all authorities and morning walkers from the adjoining areas.

·        BJP all set to organise “historic and most memorable” rally at Rohini
·        BJP will present a new development model for Delhi: Goel

New Delhi, September 28.  The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to expose the misrule of Congress in Delhi during last 15 years in the Vikas Rally on September 29. The party will highlight  Delhi specific issues in this rally  which is going to be addressed by  BJP’s Prime Ministerial Candidate Shri Narendar Modi, Delhi Election in-charge and former national BJP President Shri Nitin Gadkari, Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel and Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra. The rally will start at 10 am on September 29 at Japanese Park, Rohini.

The Congress government is scared of the massive response this rally has got and hence it is creating obstructions in putting up hoardings, posters etc.”

“The focus of this Vikas Rally is to a great extent on the development of Delhi. This rally will give voice to millions of Delhi’ites who are awaiting development even after 15 years of Congress rule. The BJP ruled states such as Gujarat, Chattisgrah, Madhya Pradesh and Goa have presented new development models. The BJP would implement similar models in Delhi when it comes to power.”

Prof.  Malhotra said, “Tomorrow’s rally will expose Congress’ hollow claims on the issue of inflation, corruption and lack of development in Delhi. The city has been turned into a slum during last 15 years by the Congress government.”

“The BJP is going to discuss not only the misdeeds of the Congress but also the positive agenda for the city in the rally tomorrow. “Development” is the mantra for BJP. Shri Modi himself is an icon of development and the Delhi BJP is also focusing on ‘development’,” added Shri Goel.

The Vikas Rally will reinforce the growing belief in the people of Delhi that BJP is a party for development.  In BJP’s focus on development is the key reason for the party getting huge support from all communities and sections of society for tomorrow’s rally. Large number of people from minority communities, youth, women, dalits and other weaker sections of the society are going to attend this rally.

Shri Goel said, “This will be a historic and the most memorable rally in this history of Delhi. Thousands of committed BJP workers have worked over the last few days to make it a success. I have been personally monitoring and supervising the preparations of this rally along with all other senior leaders of the party.  I can see that this rally has further galvanised the already charged up BJP cadres.”

I want my home back!

I want my home back!
Priyanka Agarwal
I am a girl next door from Delhi, very proud of my city in fact a hard core Delhiite at heart. Only a Delhiite knows what that means! It gives me immense pride to talk about the metro, the flyovers, the gardens which I inherited by the sheer virtue of being a natural citizen of Delhi.  But in recent years, as I moved out of Delhi for education and work, I found myself in a tough spot always defending my city when people asked questions such  as “What is the deadline for you to enter home in Delhi”, “Do you ever go out party at night”, “Do you feel safe on the roads”. I would never enjoy any jokes that stand up comics would crack around how the capital city has gained the dubious status of being the “Rape capital of the world”. I would keep placating myself thinking it is just media hype and unwanted exaggeration but the situation is actually not as bad as it is made out to be.
However, the ghastly crime in December in Delhi was like a nightmare come true. It was shocking and painful.  It is only a coincidence that I returned to Delhi around the same time after a period of three years. I noticed all that was said about Delhi was actually true. I had lived all my life in Delhi before that but this time it was different. It was almost certain that a girl is ogled at when is she is walking on the streets of Delhi. The DTC buses were packed with the opposite gender and women were conspicuous by their absence. The Delhi Metros now have compartments for women. I was no more in denial.
It doesn’t take more than typing a few words on Google to find out how Delhi is faring on crime charts. It’s shameful that the capital of India recorded the highest number of crimes among all mega cities in India last year. It filed the highest number of complaints of 17 per policemen vs. a national average of 3.7. Delhi had a record of accounting for one tenth of the crimes reported in 53 mega cities of India. It only gets worse when it comes to crimes against women where Delhi accounted for 14% among all crimes that happened across these megacities. These are only statistics which get reported, there is no count or record of the innumerable crimes going unreported. The situation is grave to say the least.
The daily rise of crime columns in newspapers, the crime reports on television infuriates me. It raises an existential question that has fallen on deaf ears of the government of Delhi. “Why can’t I travel freely without any fear in my own city when I can do so in most other cities of the world”. I have strolled on streets of Athens at midnight, I have boarded buses in Singapore, I have walked alone in narrow lanes of Milan and I have traveled in metros of Paris and London but never felt insecure. Well it is not just the other capital cities of the world that provide a safe and secure environment. I was happily surprised and proud when I visited Gujarat. The women walked freely on the streets late in the night. There was no fear or insecurity among any religion or gender of people. It truly felt liberated and at peace while ambling along the pavement in Ahmedabad.
The time has come when we need to bring about a change. We cannot have a leader like Sheila Dikshit who despite being a woman gets away with remarks holding women responsible for the crime. We have the power to throw away the languishing and insensitive government of 15 years in Delhi. We have the power to make change happen. We have to come out in large numbers to bring in a party that has offered hope and happiness, safety and security, growth and development in other parts of the country. We need the Gujarat model of safety and security to be implemented in Delhi.
I want my capital to be a world class capital and it can become one only when it is safe for all people whether native or foreign. I want my city to top the charts when it is compared with the other mega cities not only in India but across the world. I want to feel free to walk on the roads at any time of the day and in any attire. I want the police to be alert and active to fight against any crime that happens in the city. I want to feel as secure as a VIP feels when he moves around in the city. I want to feel as if I am home and there is nothing to worry about. I want my home back!

Delhi BJP President to file criminal complaint against Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi BJP  President to file  criminal complaint against Arvind Kejriwal

In a statement issued today, the Delhi Bharatiya Janata party said that in view of the mischievous and baseless allegations of corruption against the Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel by  AAP leader Sh. Arvind Kejriwal, a criminal complaint will be filed against him.

The Delhi BJP President has already served a legal notice to him. The reply given by Sh. Kejriwal has no specific details that could prove even an iota of the allegations leveled against the Delhi BJP President.  Hence the Delhi BJP President is compelled  to file a criminal complaint against Sh. Kejriwal.

Ironically Sh. Kejriwal’s vitriolic  and personal attack on Delhi BJP  is  helping the Congress most. It is surprising that instead of targeting the Congress government, AAP leaders are targeting the main opposition party BJP which is all set to  defeat Congress.

As people are able to see through Sh. Kejriwal’s attempts to divide the anti-incumbency vote thus helping Congress to make come back, his party is losing support. Many of his colleagues have left him in the past realizing that he is leading a Congress ‘B’ team.

Thus his recent outbursts are also a reflection of his growing frustration. The Delhi BJP believes  that political battles should not lead to personal attacks. The Delhi BJP will resist any attempts to vitiate the city’s political culture through mischievous and false allegations on any of its leaders.

·         Goel, top leaders take stock of preparations for the Sept. 29 rally
·         Different colour buses for  each parliamentary constituency
·         Delhi BJP extends open invitation to people for Sept. 29 Vikas Rally

Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel today visited the venue of the September 29 Vikas Rally at the Japanese Park in Rohini along with the members of the 18 committees formed to oversee the preparation for the rally, which will be addressed among others by BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi,. Shri Goel extended an open invitation to the people of Delhi to attend the historic rally.

Inspecting the venue, Shri Goel said, “Though we are sending invitations also but there is an open invitation extended to all those who want to attend this rally. Our volunteers will ensure that everyone who wants to attend the rally can do that."

Around 5 lakh persons are expected to attend the September 29 rally. Shri Goel said, "The party has made exquisite arrangements for buses for people going for the rally. The transport arrangements have been made according to the areas of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi. Accordingly, the buses will be in seven different colours representing seven Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi. The colour scheme of the buses is being finalized.”

Sh. Goel further said, “Considering the tremendous popularity of Shri Modi among the youth, the party is giving special focus on them. Special passes for youth are being issued to them for attending the rally. Youth are being contacted in all the colleges in Delhi and NCR to ensure that their enthusiasm is reflected when they take part in the rally in huge numbers.”

“Special arrangements will be made for the youth at the venue of the rally. A separate enclosure is being built in the rally pandals to accommodate young participants of the rally,” Sh. Goel informed.

The Delhi BJP President said that minority communities have shown great enthusiasm for theSeptember 29 rally.

Sh. Goel said, “We are expecting an impressive attendance of minorities in this historic rally. Apart from the Delhi BJP Minority Morcha, senior leaders of the party are also mobilizing among others the minority communities for the rally. Development has been the key concern and agenda for the minorities too, and they see Sh. Narendra Modi as an ambassdor of development. Obviously, there is a fabulous response from the minority communities for the rally, which has been named as Vikas Rally.”

Sensing the enthusiasm and zeal among the supporters and common populace of Delhi for the rally, the Delhi BJP has put up a counter at its headquarters at 14, Pt Pant Marg for merchandise for the rally including caps, T-shirts etc.  Meanwhile the prabhat pheris in all 280 Mandals continue to attract huge response from all sections of society.
