Big demonstration at AIIMS on 4th February demanding judicial enquiry into the case

WHY THE GOVERNMENT DID NOT CANCEL THE CONTRACT WITH THE COMPANY SUPPLYING OXYGEN EVEN AFTER THE DEATH OF FIVE PATIENTS IN SUSHRUT TRAUMA CENTER – VIJENDER GUPTA

New Delhi, 2nd February. BJP Medical Cell will stage a big demonstration on 4th February at AIIMS demanding judicial enquiry and punishment to the guilty persons in case of death of 5 patients due to lack of oxygen supply in Sushrut Trauma Center of the capital and failure of the Government to cancel the contract of the blacklisted oxygen supply company working in connivance with the Government. BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta will lead the demonstration.

Giving this information, Shri Gupta told that at the time when five patients on ventilator had died due to stoppage of oxygen supply, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Health Minister Dr. Ashok Walia had publicly declared that the company supplying oxygen has been blacklisted and the persons responsible for these deaths shall be punished. But the Government tried to cover up the case.

Its direct proof is that even after two month of the incident, the contract of the oxygen supply company has not been cancelled. It is surprising that this company continues to supply oxygen to serious patients in five other Hospitals of Delhi i.e. AIIMS, RML Hospital, GTB Hospital, GB Panth Hospital and LNJP Hospital. This company has neither been blacklisted and nor any stern action has been taken against them. After the death of five patients in Sushrut Trauma Center, the Government has left indoor patients of five big hospitals at the mercy of this company.

Shri Gupta further told that this is going on with the full knowledge of the company, Delhi Government and high officials of Health Department and the patients have been left at the mercy of God. This indicates of heavy corruption, which can be exposed only after judicial enquiry.

After the exposure of the failure of Government to cancel the contract of the company and its continued business with four other hospitals, the Health Minister of Delhi Dr. Ashok Walia has given a false statement and a wrong excuse that since this company is supplying oxygen to big hospitals hence its agreement had not been cancelled and not blacklisted. Shri Gupta has asked the Government to state whether there is no other company in Delhi and the country which can supply oxygen. What is the reason that even after the death of five patients the Government is so much kind to this company and it has left serious patients of five other hospitals at the mercy of this company?
