Case should be filed against Chief Minister, Health Minister under section 304-A

BJP WILL STAGE DHARNA AT TRAUMA CENTRE TOMORROW DEMANDING JUDICIAL ENQUIRY INTO THE DEATH OF FIVE PATIENTS–VIJENDER GUPTA

New Delhi, 6th December. BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has announced that BJP Delhi will stage a big Dharna at Trauma Centre, Metcalf Road in the morning demanding judicial enquiry into five deaths at Sushrut Trauma Centre. If Delhi Government tries to suppress the case then BJP will make its movement more forceful. He has demanded that case against the Chief Minister and Health Minister be filed under section 304-A.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that criminal negligence on the part of Government is responsible for the deaths. The high level officers of the Health Department and the Hospital should be prosecuted under section 304-A of IPC. Health Minister Dr. A.K. Walia and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit are directly responsible for this incident. Case should also be filed against them for this criminal negligence.

He told that the company supplying oxygen to the hospital namely PES Installations has stated that the Hospital Administration has not made payment to them for the last few months. In the mean time the contract with the company has also ended. The company was maintaining supply temporarily in the Trauma Centre on humanitarian ground even after the contract ended. The company had also taken back its employee because the hospital administration was dithering on renewing the agreement of the employee and seemed that the company will not get the contract for the supply of gas. This way, Delhi Government’s Health Department and the administration of Sushrut Trauma Centre are responsible in the case.

In place of instituting impartial and high level enquiry in this case of gross negligence, Delhi Government has ordered for departmental enquiry. It is obvious that the Government wants to cover up its negligence. Initially the enquiry was assigned to the Medical Superintendant of G.B. Pant Hospital. Now a four member committee under the Chairmanship of the Dean of Maulana Azad Medical College Dr. Arun Kumar Aggarwal has been assigned the work of enquiry. It is clear that the Government wants to escape responsibility and cover up the case.
