On this occasion the parents of the victim girl was presented a cheque of Rs. 5 lakh collected from the contribution of workers. All the leaders participating in the meeting condemned the fact that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh read out a written statement on the 8th day of the incident when the public acrimony spread over the country. He advised the people not to indulge in violence, but he did not speak any thing on the police atrocities.

It was demanded in the meeting that the accused persons of the gang rape should be summarily tried and given death penalty. Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra told that government should also take the responsibility for failed public transport system in Delhi because the transport system is under the control of Bus mafia and goondas. The private bus owners employ drivers & conductors from criminal elements knowingly. The Government has knowledge of these things, but they are hand in glove with the transport mafia. It was also demanded in the meeting that the victim should be provided world class medical facility and family members be provided sufficient financial assistance.
