NEW PARKING POLICY OF GOVERNMENT IS ANTI PEOPLE - – VIJENDER GUPTA

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has criticised the new parking policy and termed it as an anti-people decision of Delhi Government. About 60 lakhs registered Light Motor Vehicles are plying in Delhi. Now, with the recent announcement of Delhi Government for increasing the parking fees for vehicles, the common man only will suffer.

Shri Gupta has further stated that even in the election manifesto for the last two terms, the party in power in Delhi did not plan the parking policy and not mentioned a single word for that. The only aim of the present Government is to earn money unethically from residential colonies, markets, public places etc. Even the Government did not bother to consult elected leaders of three zones of MCD before arbitrarily announcing the proposed hike in parking fees. Shri Gupta has condemned that as this proposal is anti people, Delhi BJP will oppose tooth and nail the policy of latest hike in parking fees. Delhi Government very well knows about the ground reality of the city. RWAs of Delhi are also opposing this anti people parking policy of Delhi Government.

This is surprising that Government wants to earn more revenue on the name of parking from private vehicle owners. That is why Government has decided different rates for parking in peak hours and non-peak hours. The new rates have been decided on the basis of categories of colonies. In A category colonies parking charges for one hour will cost 70 rupees and monthly charges will be 5000 rupees and in B & C category of colonies parking charges will cost 2000 and D, E & F category of colonies parking charges will cost 1500 rupees monthly will be charged in the new parking policy. It will be very difficult for common man of Delhi to pay this huge amount for parking.
