5th death anniversary of Dr. Sahib Singh Verma

Starvation, poverty, price spiral, suicide of farmers are due to the sins of Congress Govt – Nitin Gadkari 

Addressing a meeting held to pay tributes to the former Chief Minister of Delhi and senior BJP leader late Dr. Sahib Singh Verma on his 5th death anniversary, BJP National President Shri Nitin Gadkari said that starvation, poverty, price spiral, suicide of farmers are due to the sins of Congress Govt. India is a rich country, but the people are poor due to wrong policies, scams and corruption by the Congress Govt. 

BJP will change this situation. Today the people of Delhi need to follow the path of Dr. Sahib Singh Verma. Shri Verma was a great thinking leader connected with the ground. His objective of life was the Antodaya philosophy of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayay. In his entire life he tried to achieve this objective. The worker should get inspiration from his life. 

The meeting to pay tributes to Shri Verma was organised in Mavalankar Hall which was presided over by Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta. He told the leaders and workers present in auditorium that Shri Verma had dreamt of a golden future for about 40 crore unorganised workers, child labourers. During his tenure as Labour Minister in Centre, he introduced a Bill for providing pension and health benefits to the unorganised labourers, but the Govt. changed and the Bill was not passed. He told that Dr. Verma was an efficient organiser, administrator, worker and friend like leader. It is impossible for any one to take his place. 

Leader of the Opposition in Delhi State Assembly Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra told that the personality of Dr. Verma was multi-dimensional. He wanted that the condition of every poor citizen should change. India should become independent and prosperous. There was no word like impossible in his dictionary. He also worked for the improvement in sports. Delhi Metro was also part of his grand plan. He also dreamt of constructing memorials for the martyrs to inspire the future generation. He completed this promise. 

Former Central Minister Shri Vikram Verma told that Dr. Verma decided his own role according to the demand of time. He made many impossible works possible. He recited a touching poetry in the memory of Dr. Verma. On this occasion Capt Abhimanyu, Dushyant Gautam, Ramesh Bidhuri besides Mayors, Legislators, Deputy Mayors, Councillors, District Presidents, Pradesh office bearers and many senior leaders of the party were present. The meeting to pay tributes was started by National President after lighting a lamp. On this occasion a documentary film on the life of Dr. Verma was also exhibited.
