5th death anniversary of Dr. Sahib Singh Verma

Starvation, poverty, price spiral, suicide of farmers are due to the sins of Congress Govt – Nitin Gadkari

Addressing a meeting held to pay tributes to the former Chief Minister of Delhi and senior BJP leader late Dr. Sahib Singh Verma on his 5th death anniversary, BJP National President Shri Nitin Gadkari said that starvation, poverty, price spiral, suicide of farmers are due to the sins of Congress Govt. India is a rich country, but the people are poor due to wrong policies, scams and corruption by the Congress Govt.

BJP will change this situation. Today the people of Delhi need to follow the path of Dr. Sahib Singh Verma. Shri Verma was a great thinking leader connected with the ground. His objective of life was the Antodaya philosophy of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayay. In his entire life he tried to achieve this objective. The worker should get inspiration from his life.

The meeting to pay tributes to Shri Verma was organised in Mavalankar Hall which was presided over by Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta. He told the leaders and workers present in auditorium that Shri Verma had dreamt of a golden future for about 40 crore unorganised workers, child labourers. During his tenure as Labour Minister in Centre, he introduced a Bill for providing pension and health benefits to the unorganised labourers, but the Govt. changed and the Bill was not passed. He told that Dr. Verma was an efficient organiser, administrator, worker and friend like leader. It is impossible for any one to take his place.

Leader of the Opposition in Delhi State Assembly Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra told that the personality of Dr. Verma was multi-dimensional. He wanted that the condition of every poor citizen should change. India should become independent and prosperous. There was no word like impossible in his dictionary. He also worked for the improvement in sports. Delhi Metro was also part of his grand plan. He also dreamt of constructing memorials for the martyrs to inspire the future generation. He completed this promise.

Former Central Minister Shri Vikram Verma told that Dr. Verma decided his own role according to the demand of time. He made many impossible works possible. He recited a touching poetry in the memory of Dr. Verma. On this occasion Capt Abhimanyu, Dushyant Gautam, Ramesh Bidhuri besides Mayors, Legislators, Deputy Mayors, Councillors, District Presidents, Pradesh office bearers and many senior leaders of the party were present. The meeting to pay tributes was started by National President after lighting a lamp. On this occasion a documentary film on the life of Dr. Verma was also exhibited.

Govt. will be exposed by signature campaign and corner meetings

BJP will call meeting of RWAs on the issue of unbearable power tariff hike

Under the series of indefinite struggle of BJP against the atrocities of power companies, Delhi Govt. & DERC on the consumers, the Party will call a meeting of more than 2,000 RWAs and apprised them about the connivance between the companies and the Govt. in power tariff hike and other bungling.

Giving this information, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta told that the party will reach to every RWA of the capital and apprised them about the open loot and tricks of the power companies.  The party workers shall visit every family door to door and provide them reasonable information with facts & figures about the loot by the power companies through pamphlets and other publicity material.  Party will also initiate signature campaign in entire Delhi.  It will also provide economic and criminal connivance between power companies and DERC to the people through corner meetings.  This information will be provided to each citizen of each AC and ward.

BJP has said that the justification of tariff hike and decision to increase power tariff every third month, supporting the decision of power companies by the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is like adding insult to injury of the people of Delhi.  Party is the view that by saying so the Chief Minister has shown her inhuman & undemocratic character.  She has indicated that the Congress believes in despotic decisions even today.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta and Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra led a strong demonstration of thousands of workers at DERC Office. A delegation under the leadership of Shri Gupta asked the Chairman of DERC P.D. Sudhakar about the justification of increasing power tariff for about half an hour. It was also asked that when audit has not been completed for the year 2011-12 of the power companies then on what ground the power tariff was hiked. Shri Sudhakar could not give satisfactory reply. Shri Gupta strongly condemned the statement of the Chief Minister that the increased hike in power tariff will not be rolled back. He said that this is a despotic step and slap on the face of the people.
BJP Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta demanded that CAG should audit the accounts of the power companies. CBI should enquire into bungling by the companies and DERC and power companies should be under the jurisdiction of RTI. Leader of the Opposition in Delhi Legislative Assembly Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra strongly participated in the demonstration at DERC office. Shri Gupta told that by increasing power tariff for the fourth time, the Government and DERC have changed the privatization of power into commercialization. Delhi Government is exploiting the people and benefiting Tata and Reliance companies. Entire Delhi is agitated. People of Delhi are not going to forgive the Government.
He announced that the agitation against power tariff hike will continue indefinitely. To protest against steep power tariff hike BJP will stage Dharna/Demonstration at 25 prominent places of Delhi and demand withdrawal of the increased tariff. Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta and Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra shall lead the workers at DERC office Malviya Nagar. Shri Gupta told that even after steep power tariff hike, the Government is adding insult to injury of the people. Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit has stated that now power tariff will be increased every third month. Her statement is inhuman and provoking to the agitated people of Delhi and the BJP strongly condemns it. He told that power companies are earning profit of crores. It can be confirmed by CAG audit but the Government is not ready for such audit of the companies because this will expose them.

National General Secretary Shri Vijay Goel and Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra shall lead dharna/demonstration at BSES Office, Shankar Road (Karol Bagh Distt.), Shri Vijay Goel will lead publice agitation at Baratooti Chowk, Sadar Bazar.  Ms Vani Tripathi will lead demonstration at Rani Bagh and Shri Mangeram Garg and Subhash Arya shall lead the workers at NDPL Office, Pitampura.  Dr. Harsh Vardhan and former Mayor Kanwar Sain shall lead the demonstration near Shakti Kiran Building Shahdara Court.  Pradesh General Secretary Ramesh Bidhuri will lead the anti tariff hike agitation at BSES Office Pul Prahadladpur MB Road. It may be mentioned that the DERC has imposed additional burden of about 75 percent on the people of Delhi although the power companies are earning heavy profit. On 26th June the Chairman of the DERC made announcement to this effect. After this there is great acrimony among the people and the BJP workers. This anti people steep hike in power tariff has made the life of the people difficult. People think that Delhi Government is planning to drive out the common man from Delhi by making steep hike in the rates of power and water.

Party will get signatures of 10 lakh peoples against tariff hike

BJP WILL START INDEFINITE MOVEMENT FROM 29th JUNE TO PROTEST AGAINST STEEP HIKE IN THE POWER TARIFF

BJP will stage protest demonstrations in entire Delhi on the 29th June to protest against 75 percent increase during the power tariff in the last 10 months and general price rise. Party will also initiate signature campaign in entire Delhi against the connivance between Delhi Government power companies and DERC. Under this campaign signatures of more than 10 lakh peoples will be taken against power tariff hike. The movement started against power tariff hike on 29th June will continue indefinitely.

Giving this information to the press person, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta and Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra told that this has happened for the first time in the history of Delhi that the DERC gave more than the demanded hike by the power companies. Delhi Government is equally responsible for this hike in tariff and hence it cannot escape the liability from it. In order to benefit the companies, the DERC fixed the rate of Rs.4 per unit for the slab upto 200 units. It has also been decided that if the consumptions increases even by one unit then the rate of the slab from 0-400 will be applicable. In this slab, the rate of tariff will be increased from Rs. 3 per unit to Rs. 5.18 per unit and the persons consuming more than 400 units will have to pay Rs. 7 per unit in place of Rs. 4.70 per unit at present. Besides this, the fixed charge on load has also been increased. Additional fixed charge of Rs. 40 upto 2 KV per month, Rs. 100 for 2 to 5 KV per month and Rs. 20 per KV for more than 5 KV load will be recovered.

10 months ago, the companies had asked the domestic consumers to deposit 1200 rupees immediately for increasing the load in their houses. Power was disconnected in the houses of those people who could not deposit the Rs.1200. The houses in which the load was only of 1 KV, the load was increased to 3 KV by force but the neither the meter was changed nor the cable whereas it was clearly stated in the notice that after depositing 1200 rupees, the meter and the main line upto meter will be replaced to bear the additional load. This was not done and the companies recovered crores from the consumers. Delhi Government is so much kind to the power companies that it granted bailout package of 500 crores to them. In the name of fuel surcharge power tariff was increased after 3 months. This loot will continue in future also. Neither the Government nor the DERC is going to listen to the consumers.

The central Government constituted Electricity Regulatory Commission with the objective that after privatization the power companies may not exploit the consumers but the contrary thing happened. The DERC became well-wisher of the companies in place of protecting the interest of consumers. Former Chairman of DERC Shri Bijender Singh had found after examination of the accounts of the companies that they were earning heavy profit of about 5100 crores, hence he had recommended for 20%reduction in power tariff. Just his after his retirement the new Chairman P.D. Sudhakar increased tariff by 22% on 26th August, 2011. He also allowed the companies to recover fuel surcharge every third month and now 34% hike has been allowed. Chief Minister of Delhi is in favour of the companies from the very beginning. She says that how long the companies shall incur loss? It is worth considering that does any private company work for loss? The Government had taken a decision in the cabinet for initiating audit by the CAG but this audit has not been initiated as yet.

Dharna/Demonstration on 29th June at offices of the power companies of Delhi against 24% hike in tariff

24% INCREASE IN POWER TARIFF FOR THE FOURTH TIME BY POWER COMPANIES IS OPEN LOOT OT THE PEOPLE – VIJENDER GUPTA

New Delhi, 26th June. BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded enquiry by an impartial and independent agency into the justification of the decision by the power companies to increase power tariff. He told that when there is written understanding in the agreement that after privatisation power tariff will decrease gradually then what is the justification of increasing power tariff for the fourth time? He told that the decision of Delhi Government and the DERC is also not beyond doubt. Both have outrightly rejected the suggestions of the people and have agreed to the demand of three power companies to increased power tariff by 24% for the fourth time despite the fact that they are already earning profit in the last eight months. BJP will stage strong dharna/demonstration at offices of the power companies on 29th June and demand roll back of increased tariff. Government has already given bailout package of 500 crore rupees to them in the name of loss to the companies.

The Former Chairman of DERC Shri Bijender Singh had after the examination of the accounts of the companies found that they were earning profit of 5,100 crore rupees, therefore he has recommended reduction of 20 percent in the power tariff. Just after the retirement of Shri Bijender Singh and appointment of new Chairman P.D. Sudhakar, the companies started exercise to hike the power tariff. The new Chairman increased power tariff by 21.8 percent. In the name of fuel surcharge, the consumers are being charged 7 to 18 percent extra every third month. The companies were not satisfied even after this and they have requested the DERC to hike power tariff by 20 to 28 percent.

In September, 2011, power tariff was hiked by 21.8 percent. Now on the 26th June the Chairman of the DERC P D Sudhakar has announced hike of 24% in power tariff which will come in to effect on 1st July, 2012. Shri Sudhakar also announced that domestic consumers will have to pay at the rate of Rs 3.70 per unit up to 200 units, Rs 4.80 up to 400 units and Rs 6.40 for more than 400 units. Besides this fuel surcharge will have to be paid every third month.

This is the condition when there is undeclared load shedding in Delhi in this summer season. The power companies, DERC and Delhi Government are trying to take advantage of this load shedding. Now, on the pretext of power shortage, separate rates of tariff will be recovered from the consumers for peak hours and non peak hours. The companies have already inflated the power bills three times by installing fast reading electronic meters. The power companies are also charging for increased load from the consumers. The consumers which had connection of 1 KV in their houses are being served notice for depositing 1200 rupees and being served bill for 3 KV meter.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that the loot of power companies is not reasonable at all. One fails to understand how representative of the people, the Chief Minister has become advocate of the power companies? She should have recommended for reduction in power tariff because power theft has been curbed but she allowed the power companies to increase power tariff in the name of loss which is injustice to the people of Delhi. The power companies draw about 5500 MW power from the central grid. Out of this only 4500 MW power is supplied to Delhi and the rest 1000 MW is sold to the neighbouring states at high rates for earning profit. When the High Court directed for CAG audit of the accounts of power companies, the cabinet of Delhi Government approved proposal for audit by CAG, then why the audit has not been started. This also creates doubt in every one’s mind. Shri Gupta told that BJP will not tolerate atrocities and inhuman treatment of the power consumers of Delhi. If needed, BJP will come in the streets with the people and fight against Delhi Government, DERC and the companies.

Government completely fails in managing power distribution in the capital

DIFFERENT RATES BEING FIXED TO LOOT THE CONSUMERS – VIJENDER GUPTA

New Delhi, 25th June. Strongly opposing the decision of DERC to recover different rates for peak hours and non peak hours in the capital, BJP has said that Delhi Government thinks only in the interest of power companies whereas all the three private power companies are earning heavy profit in the work of power distribution.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that the power companies are looting the consumers in various ways. It earns profit by selling power of Delhi’s share to other states and keeps the consumers of Delhi in darkness although power is available in Delhi. Now, the power companies have proposed new method to earn more profit. Delhi Government and DERC have agreed to their new method. Shri Gupta has raised a question to the Chief Minister that when surplus power is available in Delhi then what is the justification in fixing different rates for peak and non peak hours?

Recovering two types of tariff from the same consumer indicates that Delhi Government has completely failed in managing power distribution. Government and DERC are together taking decision to hurt the consumers on the basis of methods suggested by the companies and on the basis of accounts prepared by them. Due to this there is great acrimony among the consumers of entire Delhi. In its latest decision, the DERC has said that the power companies may increase power tariff by 22 percent from the first fortnight of July. They have taken this decision on the basis of defective accounts of the company. In spite of the direction of the court, Delhi Government has not ordered for audit of the accounts of the power companies by the CAG. They should not have been allowed to increase power tariff till the CAG completes audit of the accounts of the power companies.

With effect from 1st July, 2012, now the power companies will supply power to industrial and domestic consumers at different rates. According to the decision the period between 3.00 pm to 12.00 pm will be considered peak hours and after 12.00 pm to 6.00 am will be considered as non peak hours. During this period different rates will be recovered from the consumers. From September to the month of February, the rates of power will be normal for the period between 6.00 am to 3.00 pm. Similarly from October to the month of March, the rates will be normal for the period between 6.00 am to 3.00 pm. BJP Pradesh President Shri Gupta has alleged that the Government has completely failed in managing power supply in the capital and wondered whether different rates have been fixed to loot the consumers in the new system of calculating power tariff?

He has demanded grant of Rs. 25000 each as relief from Delhi Government to all the 450 families affected by the incident of fire. Poor people were living in this old J.J. Cluster behind G.B. Pant Hospital. Their entire belongings were burnt down in this incident of fire. The conditions are so bad that these poor families do not have even drinking water. Neither the Chief Minister nor any Minister or Officer has visited the place of incident till date

At the time of visit to the place of incident Pradesh President alongwith Vivek Sharma, Atif Rasheed, Riyazuddin Malik, Hafir Mohammad Sabreen, Md. Waseem, Nizamuddin Advocate Rajesh Kumar, Sushil Kumar, Abid Nawad were present. Shri Gupta told that the Government talk loudly about disaster management but nothing like disaster management was seen in the area affected by the incident of fire. These people who have lost everything do not have even food grain to eat, utensils, clothes, bedding etc. The worst condition of the women and children who are braving the scorching sun. The Government has not provided even Tent for temporary shelter. The affected people told Shri Gupta that the Government has neither provided tanker of drinking water nor food to them. In reply Shri Gupta told that the Government should immediately provide food, utensils clothes, tent, drinking water to the needy persons and medical camp at the place of incident so that they may get medical facility.
Shri Gupta told that the Government does not seem to be fully ready to face the situation of disaster. The Government knows that during the summer season, incidents of fire take place at various places. The Government should have made arrangements for fire brigades and arrangements for providing relief to the victims on war footing. Delhi Government has become so much inhuman for the common man that no department of the Government considered it’s proper to visit the place of incident. It may be mentioned that most of the poor minority families were living in these Jhuggis since long. Now these people have been completely ruined.

Emotional tributes by BJP leaders

New Delhi. 23rd June. On the occasion of the martyrdom day of the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, party with nationalistic thinking and its first President Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee many senior leaders of BJP offered floral tributes on his statue in Shahidi Park at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and remembered his sacrifice and also resolved to follow his path. The programme was presided over by Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta.

National Organizational General Secretary Shri Ram Lal, Prof. Om Prakash Kohli, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Pradesh Organizational General Secretary Shri Vijay Sharma, Lal Behari Tiwari, General Secretary Shri Ramesh Bidhuri, Pravesh Verma, Mayor Savita Gupta, Sansar Singh, Chhote Ram, Mahesh Chandra Sharma, Arun Jain and many senior leaders were present on this occasion.

Shri Gupta told on this occasion that anti national forces had hatched a conspiracy to separate Kashmir from India, which was foiled by Dr. Mukherjee’s sacrifice. It was the courage of Dr. Mukherjee that he rejected the permit system of entry into Jammu Kashmir by risking his life and sacrificed himself for it. Dr. Mukherjee had raised slogan in the first national conference of Bharatiya Jana Sangh in Kanpur – ‘Ek Desh Mein Do Vidhan – Do Pradhan – Do Nishan – Nahin Chalenge – Nahin Chalenge. He made this slogan meaningful by sacrificing his life. He was murdered by Kashmir Govt. in the jail. The mystery of the death of Dr. Mukherjees is still a mystery.

Just after receiving the notice BJP Pradesh President will explain the reason of telling villain to the court

Sheila Dikshit is in the role of a villain – Vijender Gupta

New Delhi. 23rd June.  BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has proved to be villain for two crore people of Delhi.  Due to her despotic behaviour and anti people works entire Delhi sees her as a villain and not as the Chief Minister.

Addressing a Press Conference at Delhi Pradesh Head office Shri Gupta told that the Chief Minister has lost her ability and capacity to rule.  She is not concerned about the people of Delhi.  Due to her frustration and anger she is in place of playing the role of a responsible ruler, is taking the recourse of defamation case to silent the voice of BJP Pradesh President on such non issue like telling a word ‘villain’ to her.  BJP is not afraid of these tactics of the Govt. They shall continue to raise the voice of the people again and again and when needed fight against the anti people decisions of Delhi Govt. with the people in the streets also.

Shri Gupta told that he respects the judiciary.  He has not received any notice on the complaint filed by the Chief Minister from the Saket Court.  Just after getting the notice from the Court he will present himself appearing in the court and he will produce the proof of the fact that why he told Sheila Dikshit as villain.  Referring about the reports in the media he told that when he has not received the notice how he can present himself in the court.  Just after receiving the notice he will explain the reason of telling villain to the court.

He further told that the Congress does not believe in democracy and democratic principles.  This Party can go to any limit in order to retain power.  During the assembly elections the Chief Minister made many false promises and issued many misleading advertisements in the press to secure the vote of the people so that the Congress may come to power.  At the time of last Assembly elections the Chief Minister issued provisional certificates to thousands of unauthorized colonies with the promise that all these colonies shall be regularized.  Even after four years not a single colony has been regularized.  By publishing misleading advertisements in the newspapers the Chief Minister promised to provide free pucca houses to the poor under Rajiv Ratan Awas Yojna although these houses had not been constructed at that time.  Not a single poor person has been allotted house under this scheme.  This way the Chief Minister acted like a villain for lakhs of people.  Taking this act of the Chief Minister as dangerous for democracy the Lokayukta of Delhi wrote a letter to the President of India for cautioning the Chief Minister in this regard.  In place of apologies to the Lokayukta the Chief Minister challenged the rights of the Lokayukta.

The history of Congress is witness of the fact that whenever it faces any crisis it never hesitate in imposing emergency.  In June 1975 the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had imposed emergency on the country in the midnight just after her election was declared illegal by the Allahabad High Court.  Now the time is June 2012.  Smt. Sheila Dikshit wants to follow the foot steps of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.  Hence she wants to throttle the freedom of expression. She also challenges the authority of CAG because constitutional institution like CAG has exposed corruption and scam of hundreds of crores by Delhi Govt. in its reports.

Smt. Sheila Dikshit is the Chief Minister for the last 14 years, but the irony is that she has not managed drinking water for the people of Delhi during these years.  By privatizing water she wants to keep poor people thirsty.  Even after increasing power tariff three times Delhi is suffering from undeclared load shedding in this summer season.  Chief Minister is so much kind to the power companies that she gave bailout package of 500 crores to the companies who are already earning profit, but she wants to impose burden of loan on the three corporation so that the people of Delhi may not get the amenities provided by the MCD.

Delhi govt. Gimmick plans Afoot on illegal colonies : BJP

New Delhi, 12 June 2012:  Delhi BJP Spokesman Mr. Vijay Jolly, MLA Dharm Deo Solanki & BJP unauthorized colonies Convener Krishan Gehlot today accused Delhi Govt. for its gimmick plans afoot on the issue of development in 1,639 unauthorized colonies in Delhi. Sheila Govt. has repeatedly tricked the poor people in illegal colonies only with the aim of securing their votes just before the 2003 & 2008 Delhi assembly elections. Sheila Dikshit meeting & thanking UD Minister Kamal Nath on the issue is like throwing “dust in the eyes” of 55 lakh poor people living in unauthorized colonies.

BJP Spokesman Mr. Jolly recalled that UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi had distributed provisional certificates to RWAs of unauthorized colonies at Chhatrasal Stadium on 4th Oct 2008. And in the presence of then UD Minister Mr. Jaipal Reddy & Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit. It was described as a historic moment for the planed development of illegal colonies. UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi at that time had complimented Delhi Govt. for making provision of Rs. 2,800 crore for executing development works in these colonies.

But BJP Leader Mr. Jolly, Dharm Deo & Gehlot revealed that Delhi govt. floated tenders for Rs. 700 crore. Works worth Rs. 300 crore were only executed. And after coming to power again, Delhi Govt. cancelled tenders worth Rs. 400 crore. So Sonia Gandhi’s accolades were mere rhetoric’s stated BJP Spokesman Mr. Jolly.

The recent CAG report tabled in Delhi assembly reveals the non utilization of Rs. 372.66 crore meant for development works in unauthorized colonies. BJP leader Mr. Jolly said the Delhi Govt. could only spend 26% of the funds whereas 74% of the funds were left unspent. This is the non serious approach of Delhi Govt. on unauthorized colonies stated BJP leaders.

BJP Spokesman Mr. Jolly, Dharmdeo Solanki & Krishan Gehlot said that MLA & MCD Councilors fund is not allowed to be used for development in unauthorized colonies by Delhi govt. The slow progress on the issue is due to the tortoise working style of Delhi Urban Development Ministry of Delhi Govt. With only 17 months left for the next Delhi assembly polls, Delhi govt. has again started its “gimmick campaign” to befool the poor people living in illegal colonies stated BJP Spokesman Mr. Jolly.

Saturday 9 June 2012

Joint Press Conference by BJP Spokespersons Mr. Vijay Jolly, Dr. Sambit Patra & Mr. Sanjay Kaul on Sat 9th June 2012 at 2.30 P.M.

CAG report indicts Govt : Delhi BJP

Delhi BJP today locked horns with Congress led Delhi Govt. over the CAG report tabled by Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit on the last day of the assembly session for the year ended 31st March 2011.

BJP Spokespersons Mr. Vijay Jolly, Dr. Patra & Mr. Sanjay Kaul at joint press conference claimed that the report by Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India has indicted Delhi Govt. for various financial losses. It is strange that the Delhi Govt. chose the last day of Delhi assembly session to table the report. Sheila Govt. seemed afraid of a public debate. And tabled the report in the assembly, after the expulsion of opposition MLAs and half an hour before the house was adjourned sine die. Congress Govt. can avoid a debate on its past performance. But can not wash away it sins stated BJP Leaders Mr. Jolly, Dr. Patra & Mr. Kaul.

BJP demands that Delhi Govt. should own its failure for : total revenue loss to the tune of Rs. 2019 crores, non utilization of Rs. 372.66 crore meant for development works in unauthorized colonies (only 26% spent whereas 74% left unspent), Rs. 100 crore left un-spent on ordinary pensions, Rs. 80 crore remaining un-utilized for the Jhajjar power plant. The CAG report indicted the govt. for under utilized subsidy for domestic LPG and less release of grants for MCD reforms. It also revealed that Delhi govt. failed to identify below the poverty line, nearly 56,000 families entitled for food subsidies under Antyodaya Anna Yojana. Gol mal in mid day meal and computer education in schools is also revealed. Delhi Jal Board headed by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit allocated Rs. 250 crore could barely spend Rs. 62.50 crores. This is shameful. An example of paralytic governance in the capital stated BJP leaders Mr. Jolly, Dr. Patra & Mr. Kaul.

BJP claimed that the recent budget session of Delhi Govt. was a complete failure. BJP demanded discussion on 28 public subjects. But only two were allowed. The Delhi Govt. surprisingly disallowed discussion on scarcity of water & power shortage. On 5th June only law & order discussion took place. And discussion on “Un-Authorized Colonies” was postponed to the last day due to shortage of time. But on that day Congress had asked for two discussions on MCD in order to nail the BJP but failed to do so in its haste to introduce & pass the Delhi tax on luxuries (amendment) bill 2012 imposing tax on banquet halls, health clubs, gyms & spas etc.

CAG exposes thoroughly the anti people Government : loss of 4,000 crore rupees to the exchequer

RICH PEOPLE GET BENEFIT OF THOUSANDS OF CRORES WITH THE CONNIVANCE OF GOVERNMENT AND BURDEN OF TAXES ON THE PEOPLE – VIJENDER GUPTA

Referring to the CAG report presented in the Legislative Assembly, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that on the one hand the departments of the Government openly looted and on the other hand it failed to utilize the fund received for the welfare of the people. In 2471 cases of Tax recovery, CAG had found serious irregularities. Due to this the Government lost revenue of 2019 crore rupees in the year 2010-11. The Government benefited the rich people by less recovery of taxes and by wrong assessments. The works meant for the welfare of the people were deliberately delayed.

Shri Gupta told that the Urban Development Department suffered the most due to the failure of Government. 96.51 percent fund of arrear of the budget of this department was not utilized. This amount is of Rs. 12659 crores.

Delhi Government benefitted the power companies also. They were given loan of thousands of crores by violating the relevant rules.  These companies did not refund the amount of loan on time. Damages of 4 crore rupees should have been recovered from them. But the Government did not recover the damages from the private power companies. The same was the condition of Delhi TRANSCO Ltd. It openly allowed the contractors to delay the work. They were paid additional amount of 1 crore rupees and damages worth 83.83 Lakh rupees was not recovered from the contractors. Indraprastha Power Generation Company also allowed the contractors to violate the rules. Due to this, it sustained a loss of 22.68 Lakh rupees.  Due to the wrong policies of the Government, the DTC also incurred loss of 33.14 Lakh rupees.

CAG has said that various methods were used to commit corruption. Plans were framed in a wrong way, due to which the PWD, Food and Civil Supplies Department, Information and Broadcasting Directorate, DTC, Urban Development Department incurred loss of crores of rupees. It is surprising that on the one hand the Government failed to utilize the funds received for the public welfare works in various heads and on the other hand fudged the accounts to show saving although the Government lost thousands of crores due to its mistakes. Amount of Rs. 2303.02 crore rupees was not spent on the infrastructural development of Delhi. Amount of hundred crore rupees meant for pension to the senior citizen was not spent by the Government. DJB was allotted 250 crore rupees for three sewerage projects. Out of this amount 75 percent money was not spent. Had this amount been utilized then the fate of unauthorized colonies would have changed. The CAG has strongly criticized almost every department of the Government and has said that the Government committed various acts of for forgery for committing corruption and bungling in the projects of public welfare. On the one hand, the Government failed to spend thousands of crores on development projects and on the other hand it imposed many new taxes in the name of deficit. Government has for the first time imposed luxury tax up to 10 percent on the Banquet Halls, Gyms, Hotels etc. Due to this the common man will also have to pay luxury tax to the Government for functions like marriage etc.

Frightened due to BJP’s movement Delhi Government withdraws VAT from CNG and textile – Vijender Gupta

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that it is the result of BJP’s ‘Delhi Bandh’ that Delhi Government had to withdraw VAT from CNG and textile. He further said that the despotic and anti people Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit had announcement 24 hours ago that Delhi Government will not bow down to any one and it will not withdraw VAT from CNG & textile. It is due to the movement of BJP that the anti people, despotic Delhi Government had to bow down and had to withdraw VAT. Shri Gupta said that during the ‘Delhi Bandh’ of BJP, the support of auto-taxi operators union, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and other important labour organizations helped in pressurizing the Government. BJP will continue to fight against the anti people decisions of the Government with the support of the people in future also and the Government will be forced to withdraw its anti people decisions. He has termed the decision to withdraw VAT as the victory of the people.

In its general budget for the year 2012-13, the Government had imposed VAT for the first time on CNG and textile and shown that it is not concerned with the needs of the people. This Government continued to exploit the people. Inspite of the fact that Chief Minister is a women Mrs. Sheila Dikshit did not spare even the women and tried to increase the price of Sarees. Similarly the Government increased prices of many commodities and filled the exchequer, but made the people of Delhi poor.

Shri Gupta told that the price spiral in Delhi is due to the wrong policies and anti people decisions of Delhi Government. Two lakh workers have migrated out of Delhi, because they are unable to cope with the price spiral. The people living in Delhi are maintaining their families with great difficulty. There is great corruption in power-water supply, food grains, education and health services. Government has completely failed. The people of Delhi do not want to see this Government in power. In the next elections, the Congress Government will be dislodged.

After attack on judges a Legislator of Delhi shot

Nobody safe in Delhi now – Vijender Gupta

New Delhi, 2nd June. Expressing his grave concern over break down of law & order in the capital, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that no citizen is safe in Delhi under the Congress rule. Any body may be murdered or looted at any time. Due to this there is atmosphere of terror and fear in entire Delhi.

Shri Gupta told that recently four judges of Saket Court were attacked in broad day light. The criminals threatened to kill them and now in the morning today Legislator Bharat Singh was attacked and his condition is serious. Yesterday a ruling Party Legislator of Narela AC Shri Jaswant Rana had raised the issue of 50 lakh rupees “Rangdari” being demanded from his son. He complained to the Speaker of Legislative Assembly that when the criminals are recovering “Rangdari” from the Legislator in Delhi then where the common man should go for safety?

Prof. of Law Department of Delhi University V.K. Ahuja was attacked in broad day light. Firstly the Police did not lodge his report. When the Prof. complained in writing to higher Police officers then FIR was lodged, but the attackers are out of the reach of Police. Shri Gupta told that law & order has completely failed in Delhi. Two crore people of Delhi are not feeling safe either in their home or outside. They are always afraid of being looted or killed by the criminals. They are not sure whether a member of the family who goes out, will safely return to his home in the evening.

10 TIMES INCREASE IN THE COURT FEES

GOVERNMENT MAKES GETTING JUSTICE IMPOSSIBLE FOR COMMON MAN– VIJENDER GUPTA

Anti people Congress Government has made getting justice possible for the people. Under a new law the Government has increased the court fee by 10 times higher. This way the Government will earn additional revenue of 500 crores from litigants fighting for justice.

Condemning the hike in the court fee charged by the courts, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that a person goes to the court only after being disappointed from every side. People have great trust in judiciary. Now by increasing court fee the Government has tried to deprive the people from getting justice. He has demanded the Government to withdraw the increased court fee immediately.

By introducing Court Fee (Delhi Amendment) Bill 2012 for amending the Court Fees being recovered since 1958, the Government has heavily increased this fee. In Delhi, lakh of cases are pending in the courts. People are running from one court to another for getting justice since decades. The court process is so much complicated and long that it is not possible for anyone to get justice within a year or two. Yet the people have trust in judiciary and hope to get justice.

Shri Gupta told that had the Government been well wisher of common man then it should not have decreased the court fee so that the people could get justice at low cost and easily. The anti people and insensitive Sheila Government without having regard to the difficulties of common man has hiked the court fee 10 times in one go. This Government does not make difference between power bill and court fee. Government has made arrangements to exploit the people from every side and fill its coffers. There is great acrimony among the people due to increase in court fee.

ANOTHER CASE OF DEFAMATION AGAINST BJP PRADESH PRESIDENT BY THE CHIEF MINISTER

DUE TO FRUSTATATION FROM DEFEAT SHEILA DIKSHIT IS MAKING AN ISSUE OUT OF A NON ISSUE

Terming the case filed by the Chief Minister Sheial Dikshit against BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta as a step taken due to frustration from defeat in the MCD elections, he has said that there was sufficient ground for the comments made by him. Smt. Sheila Dikshit is not able to accept the defeat in MCD elections. Hence she is making an issue out of non issue and in place of working in the interest of the people she is wasting her time.

It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has filed a criminal case of defamation under Section 499 of IPC in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate, Saket Court. In this case she has alleged that Shri Gupta told her a villain. The next date of hearing is 4th June.

In the complaint filed by Mrs. Sheila Dikshit in the case related to power, Delhi High Court had advised both the parties to sort out the matter mutually. The Chief Minister had stated in the court that she will amicably solve the dispute in a meeting, BJP Pradesh President. After coming from the court she deliberately filed another case of defamation in the court because she lacks political issues. Hence it seems that the Chief Minister is hesitating to comply with assurance given to the court.

The Chief Minister has been in power in the capital for the last 13 years. During this period she has made many false and misleading promises to the people. She got distributed provisional certificates to unauthorized colonies but these were not regularized. At the time of last Assembly Elections, she had promised to provide cheap pucca houses to the poor whereas these houses did not exist. The Lokayukta of Delhi took these promises of the Chief Minister seriously and wrote a letter to the President of India to caution Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

This year Chief Minister had said that there will be no shortage of power and water in Delhi. Summer Action Plan has been prepared for it. Entire Delhi is crying for water and power and there is no trace of Summer Action Plan. Despite paying huge bills people of Delhi are deprived of water & electricity in this scorching heat of summer.
