Before accusing BJP Congress Party should make self appraisal

Congress Manifesto a misleading document of promises which may never be fulfilled - BJP

Terming the Congress manifesto as a document of false promises which may never be fulfilled, BJP has said that the Congress Government which issued a white-paper criticising the BJP ruled MCD, is completely involved in corruption. This has demonstrated the frustration of the Congress Party. BJP will issue its manifesto prepared for the development of all the three Corporations before the public and the media tomorrow.

Giving this information, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta and the Chairman of Election Management Committee Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra told the press persons that BJP has made MCD as the first Corporation of the country in which the facility of e-governance has been started for all the citizens. They can avail most of the services of MCD from their houses. Both the leaders have openly challenged the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to prove any of the charges levelled against BJP and MCD. Before accusing BJP Congress Party should make self appraisal.

In its manifesto the Congress has mentioned about issuing provisional certificates to the unauthorised colonies, but it has not been mentioned that with the connivance of the Government and with knowledge of Sonia, Sheila and Raj Kumar Chauhan about 150 such colonies were issued provisional certificates which did not exist at all at the time of issuing certificates. The Government had to announce an enquiry into this case after BJP’s strong protest, but files are missing in connection with bungling of thousands of crores. Now the Lokayukta has issued strong orders that the Government should file cases against the persons involved in missing files.

The case of regularising the unauthorised colonies was dealt by the then Revenue Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan and Joint Secretary of Unauthorised Colony Cell IAS officer Madhukar. It was only after the President of India recommended dismissing the officer - Shri Madhukar was dismissed. But the corrupt Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan was not removed from his post even after the comments of Lokayukta and allegation of committing bungling of thousands of crores in distributing provisional certificates and in the case of tax invasion in Tivoli Garden.

Not a single college has been opened under Delhi University during the last 13 years. Even hospitals have not been opened for which promises had been made. Nobody cares about the poor in admission to the schools & hospitals. Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is roaming free even after committing scam of thousands of crores in CWG. Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Shri Manmohan Singh, Shri P. Chidambaram are protecting her. Shunglu Committee appointed by the PM, CAG and Lokayukta have exposed corruption by Sheila Dikshit but no action has been taken against her as yet.

Due to corruption oriented wrong economic policies of the Congress Government, price spiral is uncontrolled. Government is deliberately avoiding to take action for curbing price rise. Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit had issued statement that the people of Delhi earn more and hence they are not affected the price spiral. The women in the capital are not safe although the Chief Minister of Delhi is woman. Law & order system has failed. Supreme Court and High Court have termed Delhi as the haven of rapists and criminals. No body is safe in their houses here.

The Congress Party had made announcement about providing 15000 cheap houses to the poor. This announcement was made at the time of Assembly elections in 2008 and MCD elections in 2007. Not a single such house has been allotted to the poor till date. Congress has also claimed about starting Metro Rail whereas the reality is that BJP started Metro Rail in Delhi. The then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajapyee was the first person to have travelled in Metro Rail. He travelled from Kashmere Gate to Shahdara in Metro Rail after purchasing a ticket and this way started Metro Rail service.

The BJP has started for the first time solid garbage management system under MCD so that the capital may be clean and energy may be produced from garbage. BJP has also provided computers, uniforms and books to the poor students. Separate toilets for the girls students have also been provided. BJP also opened schools and hospitals in those villages in which it was not provided during the last 64 years and it was done in record time.

The people of Delhi are facing the evil consequences of privatisation of power in Delhi. Congress had made false promise of providing regular power and water in its election manifesto. The reality is that 40% people of Delhi are not provided drinking water. These people depend upon private sources. The Congress also wants to privatise water supply and recover many times higher tariff. Action has already been started in this directions. Government could not treat water of dirty drains in Delhi. The Yamuna has changed into a dirty drain.
