Government makes populist announcements before the MCD elections

False announcements made by the Government will never be implemented - Vijender Gupta

New Delhi, 7th February. Just before the MCD elections, the populist announcements of thousands of crores made by the Government to attract the people has been termed by the BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta as one more bundle of false promises and asked Delhi Government should tell the people how it will implement these announcements without making any budget provision? He has demanded that the Chief Minister should issue clarification on making the budget allocation and fixing time limit for the implementation of announcement so that the people may know about the truth and what is false.

Shri Gupta has reminded the Chief Minister that the Government had made many such announcements before the 2008 Assembly election also. It had promised regularisation of all unauthorised colonies and providing basic amenities, free houses to the poor, cleaning the yamuna, connecting the villages with sewerage system, construction of pucca houses in place of slums, welfare measures for women, senior citizens and handicapped persons. These announcements have not been fulfilled even after four years. The Government can not keep two crore people in illusion.

Delhi Government has made many announcements under which thousands of crores will be spent on 65 thousand registered labourers, women labourers, pensioners, handicapped persons, old persons, students of senior secondary classes/ST students, minorities, widows etc. These announcements of Congress Government have been made just before the MCD elections so that the votes of the poor people, labourers of Delhi may be secured in the forthcoming MCD elections by showing them golden dreams.

BJP Pradesh President told that the people of Delhi are fed up with the false announcements of Congress Government made during the last 13 years. Now they can not trust this Government which has failed to fulfil its promise. The people of Delhi want to dislodge the Congress Government. If the Chief Minister has the courage then she should announce elections for the Assembly also with the MCD. The results of the elections will show that now the people of the capital can not be misled by the Congress Government. It will have to face defeat in the elections.
