Delhi Government fails in framing rules for nursery admissions

LT. GOVERNOR SHOULD INTERVENE IN PREVENTING IRREGULARITIES IN ADMISSIONS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF DELHI - VIJENDER GUPTA

 Expressing his acrimony over the arbitrariness of private schools in nursery admissions, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded immediate intervention of the Lt. Governor.

He told that it has been learnt that the school administration is putting hindrance in the admission of children belonging to EWS and income certificate besides other documents are being demanded from the people belonging to SC/ST category of EWS which is open violation of the orders of High Court. He accused that due to lax attitude of the Government, future of lakhs of children of the capital is hanging in balance.

Accusing the Delhi Government, he told that the Government has completely failed in issuing clear guidelines due to which there is acrimony among the parents. Shri Gupta told that admission of the EWS children is mandatory. He also alleged that admission is being denied to them by involving the children of this category in the points system.

He told that there are 2000 private schools in Delhi in which about 5 lakh children are to be admitted. The school administrations are behaving in an arbitrary way. He also alleged that the school administration and Delhi Government are creating such conditions that the parents may have to pay lakhs of rupees and take the help of admission mafia. Opposing commercialization of education he told that in place of giving importance to education, the school administration have become profit earning institution. Due to the wrong policies of Delhi Government more than 50 thousand children of EWS are suffering and their future is uncertain.

He further told that many school administrations are charging 100 rupees for online registration for admission forms and prospectus of 25 rupees and with which the prospectus of the school is not available. This is open violation of the guidelines of the High Court. He has demanded intervention by the Lt. Governor and told that those parents who had to pay for online registrations should be refunded the money and the Lt. Governor should order for stern action against such schools so that lakhs of parents may get relief and the admission mafia may be eliminated.
