Connivance between Government and land mafia is the cause of increasing circle rates

Government has put unbearable burden of 1500 crores on the people by increasing circle rates by 250% - Vijender Gupta

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that the Delhi Government has put unbearable burden of 1500 crore rupees on the people by increasing circle rates by 250%. There is grave conspiracy of Delhi Government and Congress Party behind hiking circle rates. Government and the Congress Party which have failed to provide basic amenities to the common man now has decided to make highest increase in circle rates so far due to which the the poor and common man may not be able to live in Delhi. Under this conspiracy circle rates have been increased for the second time within 8 months. Congress Government wants to recover the losses caused by the Government loot in CWG.

This year in the February Delhi Government had increased circle rates by 100%. Due to this the circle rates for H-category was increased from Rs. 6,900 to Rs. 13,800. Now the Government has fixed circle rates for A to H category under which circle rates have been increased by 250% in A-category, 100% in B & C category, 25 to 30 percent in E-category, 20 to 25 percent in F-category and 10 to 15 percent in G & H category. Government will earn revenue of 1500 to 2000 crores by this increase.

Delhi Government had spent 25 thousand crore rupees on CWG and now the Chief Minister wants to make up the loss by exploiting the people. Common man live in G & H category colonies. All the unauthorised colonies come under this category. Government has not provided basic amenities in these colonies. Now the Government by increasing circle rates wants to drive out 50 lakh poor people of Delhi living in 1639 unauthorised colonies. Connivance between Government and land mafia is working behind it.

Shri Gupta told that 350% hike in the circle rates within 8 months can not be said to be reasonable or justified. BJP demands that Government should immediately withdraw new circle rates and continue with old circle rates so that the life of the common man may not be disturbed. He further told that price rise is increasing day by day. All the methods of Central and Delhi Government for curbing it have failed. Now with the increase in the circle rates the prices of land and building will be sky rocketing. 49% people of Delhi do not have houses of their own. Such people live in rented houses and spend their majority of income for paying rent in Delhi.

This hike in circle rates will also affect house rent. Now house rents will increase by 30%. Even before the people of Delhi have been spending 40 to 50 percent of their earning on house rent. Now due to further increase in house rent they will have to leave Delhi. This migration will affect the social, economic and cultural fabric of Delhi. Development of Delhi will be hindered. Large number of labourers live in Delhi. When the labourers will migrate out of Delhi then the industries will be paralysed.

Poorvanchalis of Delhi are being treated in step motherly way by CM of Delhi-Vijender Gupta

Addressing big public meeting after laying the foundation of a primary being constructed by the MCD at the cost of Rs. 2.5 crores in Tuglakabad extension, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta told that the Chief Minister of Delhi is behaving in a despotic manner. Due to rigidity she failed to announced public holiday on the occasion of Chhath festival of the Poorvanchalis and offended the sentiments of 40 lakh peoples of Poorvanchal. The Chief Minister also putting hindrances in the efforts MCD for announcing public holiday on the occasion of Chhath festival and showed her step motherly treatment with the poorvanchalis. There is great acrimony among all these people due to her decision.
On the occasion of laying the foundation stone of primary school, besides Pradesh President Shri Vijende Gupta the General Secretary and Legislator Shri Ramesh Bidhuri, Legislator and In-Charge of Poorvanchal Cell Dr. S.C.L. Gupta, area BJP Councilor Poonam Bhati and thousands of local citizens were present on this occasion.
Pradesh President told that Chief Minister Sheila Diskhit has forgotten all the democratic values due to her despotic behavior. She treats the people of Delhi on separate issues in different ways. Her behavior with the Poorvanchalis of Delhi has always been of neglect and discrimination. Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit never accepted the Poorvanchalis open hearty. She has been considering the 40 lakhs Poorvanchalis of Delhi as a burden. This is the reason why she did not develop those areas of the capital where people of Poorvanchal are residing. After living a neglected life by the state Government, they have contributed to the development of Delhi. They have been demanding worship for the last several years that Delhi Government should declare the public holiday on chhath festival so that they may workshiped the sun god with all the members of the family. It is unfortunate that the Chief Minister and the Congress party did not accept their justified demand. This time the BJP team under the leadership of Pradesh President met the Chief Minister and demanded for declaring public holiday on this occasion but their demand was out rightly rejected by the arrogant CM of Delhi.

On this occasion the Legislator Shri Ramesh Bidhuri told that 40 lakh Poorvanchalis of Delhi will never forget the step motherly treatment of Congress Government. They will take revenge at appropriate time. Legislator S.C.L. Gupta told that all the sections and religious communities of India celebrate festivals together. In Delhi also the people of Poorvanchal live in large numbers in Delhi and they celebrate their traditional festival. Chhath festival is the greatest festival of the people of Poorvanchal. On this occasion the entire family worships the sun god so that there may be happiness and peace in the coming year in family and country. It is unfortunate that the Congress Government is not co-operating with them on such occasion on this holy occasion.
Area Councilor Poonam Bhati told that by laying the foundation stone of family school building, Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has solved the problem of education of Childeren. After opening of the school thousands of families will avail the facilities of educating their children and do proud to Delhi and country. This school building will be of 22 rooms in which boys and girls students will get education. She thanked all the people and guests presents on this occasion.

BJP workers start Karsewa at Chhath Ghats today

BJP will set up service camps at 116 Chhath Ghats of Delhi

On the occasion of sacred Chhath festival of about 40 lakh Poorvanchalis of Delhi, more than 10 thousand BJP workers started Karsewa under the leadership of Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta from Sonia Vihar Pushta No.1 by setting up service camps at 116 Chhat Ghats of Delhi.
On this occasion Shri Gupta told the workers and the people present on this occasion that BJP is committed for the protection of Indian culture and tradition.  Party is the view that any society propers only by the protection and enrichment of its ancient culture.  Hence the BJP workers started assisting the Chhath worshippers by setting up service camps since Chhath Pooja started in Delhi.  In this connection the MCD respecting the sentiments of 40 lakh Poorvanchalis declared public holiday.  It is unfortunate that in place of accepting the demand of Poorvanchalis for public holiday, Delhi Government has started putting hindrance in the process of declaring public holiday on Chhath festival by MCD.  BJP strongly condemns this unbecoming behaviour of Delhi Government.

Pradesh President told that fruits are the most important items in the Chhath worship. The Sun God is paid obeisance with a basket of fruits.  Due to the indifferent attitude of Delhi Government and corruption in it the prices of fruits are sky rocketing.  Taking advantage of it the fruit traders have increased the prices by three times.  Bananas are being sold for Rs. 70 per dozen, apples Rs. 150 per kg, Mausambi Rs. 60 per kg, promagnate Rs. 200 per kg., coconut fruit Rs. 40 per piece, oranges Rs. 150 per kg, pears Rs. 80 per kg., Baboo Ghosha Rs. 100 per kg, pineapple Rs. 60 per kg, Sharifa Rs. 120 per kg., The Food & Supply Department of Delhi Government has completely failed to curb price rise. Shri Gupta has demanded the Chief Minister that it should immediately arrange the sale of fruits through Mother Dairy booths in entire Delhi at fair price rates.

He further told that the attitude of Congress Government and Chief Minister has been discriminatory against the Poorvanchalis.  Delhi Congress Government has always treated the Poorvanchalis in a step motherly way.  Hence Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said that the migrants used the civic amenities of Delhi and the people of Delhi are deprived of the basic amenities.  This statement of Delhi Government is unconstitutional because the fundamental rights in Indian constitution authorises every citizen of India to reside any where and earn his livelihood.  Every citizen of country has right to lead a respectable life in any state.  40 lakh Poorvanchalis of Delhi are contributing to the development of Delhi by their hard labour. The Poorvanchalis are not burden on Delhi rather they share the burden on Delhi.

There was unprecedented zeal among the BJP workers and leaders at the time of starting Karsewa at Sonia Vihar.  Pradesh President Vijender Gupta, Co-Incharge Shri Rameshwar Chaurasia, Poorvanchal Cell Incharge Dr. S.C.L. Gupta, Convenor Shri Abhey Verma and thousands of BJP workers participated in Karsewa.  This Karsewa started at Sonia Vihar Pushta-I and went up to Pushta No.5.  After that the Karsewaks offered Kar sewa at other Chhath Ghats and made them worth performing Chhath Pooja.
Giving the details of arrangements on 116 Chhath Ghats, Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta told that the BJP workers will remain present round the clock at all the Ghats and help the worshippers in every way so that they may not face any difficulty.  It may be mentioned that in Bihar and neighbouring states public holiday for two days is observed.  This festival is celebrated for the happiness, prosperity, welfare of the family, society, country and the world. This is the only festival in which the setting Sun is offered obeisance and the worshippers remain on the banks of rivers for the whole night singing devotional sons and on the next day pay obsescience to the rising Sun and with this the worship is completed.

BJP team inspects Chhath Ghats

Thousands of BJP workers will start Kar Sewa tomorrow to provide facilities to the Chhath worshippers

Under the leadership of BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta, the BJP workers alongwith Co-Incharge Rameshwar Chaurasia, Pradesh Poorvanchal Cell Incharge Dr. S.C.L. Gupta and Convenor Abhey Verma will start Karsewa at 9.30 a.m. tomorrow at Sonia Vihar Pushta-I.

In this Karsewa hundreds of BJP workers will take part. Arrangements have been made to provide amenities to the Chhath worshippers on behalf of BJP Delhi Pradesh.  The workers will be present at the Ghats on the 1st day of Sunworship and will provide all kinds of facilities to the worshippers. Pradesh President told that the Karsewa started by the BJP workers will continue till the completion of Chhath Pooja.

On the other hand Delhi Pradesh Co-Incharge Shri Rameshwar Chaurasia inspected the preparations for Chhath worship at Haiderpur Canal passing through Wazirpur Industrial Area of Delhi.  Lakhs of Poorvanchalis of Shalimar Bagh , Shakurpur, Rithala, Rohini, Badli, Kamla Nagar and Wazirpur Industrial area celebrate Chhath festival on the Ghats on the bank of Haiderpur Canal.  Expressing their dissatisfaction on the preparations for Chhath worship, the BJP team told that the responsibility of construction and cleaning of Ghats is of Delhi Government, but the Government is not discharging its responsibility.

In view of the bad conditions of the Ghats, the BJP workers have themselves started Karsewa so that the Chhath worshippers may not face any difficulty.  Shri Rameshwar Chaurasia told that the Flood Control Department of Delhi Government and Pilgrimage Development Committee should have completed this work in advance.  But the Delhi Government has neither constructed the Ghats nor made arrangements for sanitation and lighting.  SarvaShri Sanjeev Sharma, Councillor Suresh Bhardwaj and Subhash Pandey etc. were present with Shri Chaurasia.

Shri Chaurasia told that MCD has allotted 50 lakh rupees to provide facilities to 40 lakh Poorvanchalis of Delhi.  With the help of this fund, the Ghats will be made more beautiful and safe.  Similarly the Delhi Government should have respected the sentiments of Poorvanchalis and provided all the facilities through the Government for the sunworshipers for which they are entitled.

Chief Minister's statement about further increase in power tariff is onslaught on the interest of the people - Vijender Gupta

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that when the rate of inflation is continuously rising in Delhi, the statement of the Chief Minister about further hike in the power tariff has increased the acrimony of the people of Delhi.  BJP strongly condemns the statement of Chief Minister about hike in power tariff and it indicates anti people attitude of the Government.

If the Chief Minister thinks in the interests of the people then she should immediately accept the demand for CAG enquiry into the accounts of all the three private power supply companies and should request the Central Government to implement it.  The power companies are earning profit of thousands of crores.  Inspite of this Government allowed 22% hike in power tariff.  By doing so the Government is implementing the secret agenda of the power companies.  Delhi Congress Government has nothing to do with the interest of the people.

He told that the reason of further increase in power tariff is that Delhi Government and the DERC are not in favour of the people, but are supporting the profit making attitude of the private companies.  This is the reason why the Government allowed 22% hike in power tariff. Although the companies are earning heavy profit the Chief Minister is talking about further increase. Referring to the observation of High Court, Shri Gupta told that the Hon'ble Judges of High Court hearing the case of tariff hike by two power companies, told the companies, officers and the advocates that if the companies are not in a position to supply power at the present rates then they should leave the field.  There are many power supply companies in India which are capable supplying power at fair rates.

BJP Pradesh President has demanded Delhi Government and the DERC that if the private companies continued to state that they are incurring loss then they should be relieved from this job.  Fresh tenders should be invited for awarding the work of power distribution to new competent companies.

Poorvanchal Samman Samaroh organised in Shahbad-Daulatpur

Congress is adopting double standards with regard to Poorvanchalis - B.J.P.

Speaking in Samman Samaroh organised by BJP Poorvanchal Cell in Shahbad-Daulatpur ward, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that Congress is adopting double standard with regard to Poorvanchalis.  Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam is claiming in Mumbai that Poorvanchalis are not burden on Mumbai rather share the burdened on Mumbai.  But on the other hand the Chief Minister of Delhi Smt. Sheila Dikshit thinks that the Poorvanchalis are burden on Delhi.

Due to the prejudice of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit towards the Poorvanchalis she did not announce public holiday on Chhath festival even after demand by the people of Poorvanchal.  Respecting the sentiments of Poorvanchalis, BJP has declared public holiday on 1st November, 2011 in the M.C.D.  Whoever will neglect the Poorvanchalis will have to face the acrimony of the 40 lakh people of Poorvanchal.  If Smt. Sheila Dikshit would have been clear in her intentions then she must have declared public holiday on Chhath festival respecting the Indian culture and tradition so that the people of Poorvanchal may worship the Sun God with their family.

Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta, Poorvanchal Cell Incharge Dr. S.C.L. Gupta, Poorvanchal Cell President Abhey Verma and other senior persons were honoured in the Poorvanchal Samman Samaroh by more than three thousand people assembled on this occasion.  A cultural programme was also presented on this occasion.  Dr. S.C.L. Gupta told that all the Poorvanchalis of Delhi should unitedly work in the interest of Poorvanchalis. Unity is the best formula of getting success.

Cell President Shri Abhey Verma told that the people of Poorvanchal have changed the demographic character of Delhi.  Now no political party can survive if it neglects 40 lakh Poorvanchalis of Delhi.  Whoever will do so will have to face adverse consequences.  He said that the obstinacy of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is responsible for her failure to declare public holiday on Chhath festival.  The BJP Councillor of Shahbad-Daulatpur Ward Santosh Bharati thanked the Poorvanchalis who participated on this occasion.

The excuse of Chief Minister in not declaring Holiday on Chhath festival is misleading - Vijender Gupta

Nitish Kumar also demands declaration of public holiday on Chhath festival

The Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar met the Chief Minister of Delhi Smt. Sheila Dikshit and requested her to declare public holiday on 1st November, 2011 on Chhath festival respecting the feelings of 40 lakh people of Poorvanchal living in Delhi.

Commenting on the talks held between Shri Nitish Kumar and Smt. Sheila Dikshit on declaring holiday on Chhath festival, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta told that a Chief Minister should immediately declare holiday considering the advise of another Chief Minister.  Shri Gupta told that the statement of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is misleading that she has no authority to declare holiday.  Every Chief Minister has full powers to declare public holiday on any festival in view of the sentiments of the people.  If the Chief Minister desires then she can declare public holiday on Chhath festival respecting the sentiments of Poorvanchalis.

It may be mentioned that Shri Nitish Kumar had come to Delhi to participate in the meeting of National Development Council with other Chief Ministers.  At that time he met Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit separately and requested her to declare holiday on Chhath festival.  Shri Nitish Kumar had also told Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit that there is no constitutional, legal or administrative hindrance in declaring public holiday on Chhath festival in Delhi.  In view of this great festival public holiday should be declared on 1st November, 2011.

25% population in Delhi is of Poorvanchalis who have permanently settled in Delhi and celebrate all the festivals of their home state.  For the last ten years this festival is being celebrated with great zeal in the capital Delhi.  In democratic system that Government is good which runs the administration respecting the public sentiments.  The Chief Minister who offends the sentiments of the people is treated as unpopular and anti people. A delegation of the Party under the leadership of BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta had met the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and had demanded for declaring public holiday in Delhi on the occasion of Chhath festival.  But the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit disregarded this demand due to which there is great acrimony among the Poorvanchalis.

Chhath festival is such popular festival of India in which men & women of the family observe fasting.  The people worship the setting Sun and pay obeisance.  They pass the entire night on the banks of rivers and other water bodies by singing devotional and other songs.  On the next morning they again worship the rising Sun and pay obeisance.  After that the fasting is ended. This festival is celebrated for the welfare and prosperity of family, society, country and the world.  In the ancient Indian culture Sun worship has been given much important.

People of Delhi should say "No' to the crackers so that environment may remain safe - Vijender Gupta

Congratulating all the people of Delhi on the occasion of Dhan Teras and Deepawali, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has appealed to the people that they should not burst crackers on Deepawali so that the environment of Delhi may remain safe.  Delhi should set an example of an ideal State before the people of the country so that the people of other States may imitate Delhi and keep the environment safe.

Shri Gupta told that due to the use of crackers and fireworks in large numbers the environment of Delhi is badly affected.  The data collected after Deepawali show that the use of crackers have adversely affected the birds & animals and other creatures.  Many accidents also take place due to use of crackers and fireworks.  Now the time has come when the common man will have to seriously think in this direction so that environment may remain secure and we also remain safe.

He has also appealed to the workers of BJP that they should present an ideal example before the people of Delhi, say 'No' to crackers so that a positive effect may be seen on the society and the capital of India may also be remain safe.

BJP team meets Chief Minister on the issue of holiday on Chhath festival Acrimony among the Poorvanchalis due to failure of Sheila Dikshit Government to declare public holiday on Chhath festival - Vijender Gupta

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta met the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit along with his team under a pre-fixed pgoramme demanding public holiday on 1st November on the occasion of Chhath festival.  The Chief Minister listened to the BJP team, but flatly refused to declare holiday.  The BJP leaders who met the Chief Minister include Pradesh Co-Incharge Shri Rameshwar Chaurasia, Pradesh General Secretary Shri Ramesh Bidhuri, Poorvanchal Cell Incharge Dr. S.C.L. Gupta and Pradesh President Abhey Verma.

Shri Vijender Gupta told that the attitude of the Chief Minister with Poorvanchalis during the last 13 years has been biased.  This is the reason why she did not respect the feelings of 40 lakh Poorvanchalis of Delhi.  There is great acrimony among all the Poorvanchalis living in Delhi.

It may be mentioned that the Mayor of Delhi had immediately declared public holiday on 1st November when demand was made to her for public holiday on the occasion of Chhath festival.  She had also sanctioned 50 lakh rupees from the funds of M.C.D. to provide amenities at the Pooja Ghats.  The Poorvanchalis have been demanding the Chief Minister for the last 13 years that public holiday should be declared on the occasion of Chhath festival so that the people of Poorvanchal may celebrate this festival with family members. She has always rejected this demand.

Last year offending the feelings of the Poorvanchalis Chief Minister had declared that the Poorvanchalis are burden on Delhi.  These people avail all the civic amenities of Delhi and due to this there is scarcity of civic amenities in Delhi.  She was strongly criticised for her such unfortunate statement.

Shri Gupta told that 40 lakh Poorvanchalis are contributing to the development of Delhi without availing proper civic amenities.  If the contribution of the Poorvanchalis is not counted in the development of Delhi then Delhi's development will remain partial.  The contribution of all those people in the development of Delhi is important who have come from their provinces and settle in Delhi.  Constitution of India guarantees to every citizen right to settle any where, pursue any occupation and earn livelihood in a respectable way.  The team which met the Chief Minister included SarvaShri Chandra Shekhar Rai, Robin Sharma, Dinesh Pratap Singh, Rekha Srivastava, Kalpana Jha, Shashi Prabha Pathak, Rekha Sinha, Santosh Ojha, Anand Trivedi, Santosh Bharati, Anil Jha.

Markets affected by price spiral : plethora of adulterated items

Delhi Government should open shops to sell essential commodities at concessional rates on Deepawali - Vijender Gupta

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that the rate of inflation has gone upto 10.6% on Deepawali festival which shows that the Central and Delhi Governments have completely failed and demanded the Delhi Government that it should make arrangements for setting up Fair Price Shop in entire Delhi so that the common man of Delhi may be able to celebrate Deepawali.

Shri Gupta told that there are reports of lakhs of tones of adulterated Mawa and other sweets being sold in Delhi.  The food adulteration department of Government is discharging its responsibility only by making statements on paper.  Delhi Government has not made any concrete arrangements for stopping the consignment of adulterated Mawa and sweets coming in Delhi.  On the occasion of this festival milk, Mawa, cheese, fruits, vegetables, dry fruits, biscuits, namkeen and branded gift packets are being sold at double rates in comparison with last year.

BJP demands that Delhi Government should immediately make arrangements for the sale of essential commodities at concessional rates at PDS shops and Mother Dairy booths in all nine administrative districts of Delhi so that the poor citizens may also celebrated this festival with happiness.  Due to increase of demand of goods the sale of adulterated and fake goods increase on the occasion of festival.  If Delhi Government will sell genuine goods at concessional rates then thousands of people shall be saved from falling ill by eating adulterated goods.

According to the Government data fruits have become costlier by 12.39%, milk and milk products by 10.8%, vegetables by 17.59%, fruits by 12.39%, food grains by 4.73%, rice by 4.2%, pulses 7.42%, onions 11.27%, mutton by 14.8% on the occasion of Deepawali.  It is surprising that the agricultural producers are not getting fair price at the wholesale markets of Delhi. The entire profit is being taken away by the touts and employees of the Government. Fruits & vegetables are being sold at 10 to 15 times of the rates of wholesale market.  In the mean time it has been learnt that the Reserve Bank is again trying to push up the inflation.  RBI Governor has again said about increasing the interest rates.  Due to this various items shall become more costlier in the market.

Delhi Government should declare public holiday on Chhath festival - B.J.P.

BJP has demanded the Chief Minister that she should declare the most important festival of 40 lakh Poorvanchalis Chhath festival on 2nd November, 2011 as public holiday so that they may celebrate this festival with full dedication and enthusiasm.

In a Press Conference at the Pradesh Headquarters, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded that arrangements should be made for additional water to be released in yamuna for the Chhath worshippers at Wazirabad Ghat.  On this occasion all the roads leading to the banks of yamuna river in Delhi should be made safe for the pedestrians.  Free parking and free health services should also be provided by organising camps at all the Chhath Ghats.

BJP had demanded public holiday on the Chhath festival last year also, but the Congress Government did not respect the emotional of the Poorvanchalis and they had to celebrate their festival without any leave for it.  Hence this year BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has in his letter to the Chief Minister again demanded that Delhi Government should declare holiday on the occasion of Chhath festival.

The Co-Incharge of Delhi Pradesh and Legislator from Bihar Shri Rameshwar Chaurasia, Pradesh Vice President Mrs. Poonam Azad, Poorvanchal Cell Incharge Dr. S.C.L. Gupta and President of the Poorvanchal Cell Shri Abhey Verma were present in the Press Conference.  Shri Rameshwar Chaurasia informed the press persons that as Durga Pooja in Bengal and Dussehra and Ramlila in Delhi are important for the people the same way Chhath festival is the most important festival in entire Bihar Jharkhand and neighbouring areas and also in Delhi.
A delegation of BJP will meet the Chief Minister of Delhi and Mayor and demand for declaring holiday on Chhath festival every year and will submit a demand letter for providing facilities to the Chhath worshippers (Annexed).  This festival of sun worships is observed for the happiness, peace and prosperity of the family, society, country and the world.  This is a very difficult kind of worship because the worshippers fast for the day and night and pray standing in rivers and other water bodies and also sing devotional songs the whole night.  This fasting is ended after paying obeisance to the Sun God in the morning.
Following are the demands of the BJP from Delhi Government for providing facilities for the Chhath worshippers :-
  •  Public holiday be declared on Chhath festival.
  • Sufficient numbers of train be run from Delhi to Bihar & U.P.
  • Proper arrangements be made for Chhath worship in M.C.D. and DDA parks.
  • Additional water be released at Wazirabad Ghat on this occasion.
  • Arrangements be made to clean the yamuna banks.
  • The lanes which are not smooth be made worth walking.

Inauguration of school building constructed at the cost of Rs. 1.25 crores in Siraspur village

The Chief Minister is misleading the people by inviting suggestions for the Development Plan - Vijender Gupta

Terming the invitation of the Chief Minister for suggestions for the 12th Five Year Plan from the people of Delhi as a joke, the BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that had the Delhi Government been serious about the development of Delhi then some concrete development would have been completed in the field of power, water, transport, education, health, environment, housing, employment, industries etc.  He was addressing the people present on the occasion of inauguration Primary School constructed at the cost of Rs. 1.25 crores in Siraspur village.  After the construction of the school lakhs of parents will get the facility of educating their children near their houses.

Shri Gupta told that it is unfortunate that the Government encouraged corruption and price spiral during its 13 years rule.  The Government was never interested in the welfare of the common man.  Delhi Government continued to work for five percent rich people.  The budget 2011-12 itself tells about the complete failure of the Government.  Delhi Government had allotted 13,600 crore rupees for planned expenditure.  Even after seven months the Government has been able to spent only 13% of the planned allocation.  11,800 crore rupees of the budget is blocked in the Government treasury and the people of Delhi are craving for basic amenities like power, water, education, health etc.

Delhi Government is completely involved in corruption.  The Shunglu Committee report and the CAG report are the proof of this fact.  The PAC of Delhi Government had directly accused the Chief Minister that she committed bungling of 8,000 crore rupees in the privatisaion of power.  Lokayukta of Delhi Justice Manmohan Sareen had also written a letter to her Highness the President of India against the Chief Minister stating that she should prevent the Chief Minister of Delhi from making false assurances.  Inspite of this the Chief Minister is making false announcements in view of MCD elections.

The Chief Minister has said that the homeless people from Scheduled Caste will be provided free houses.  She has also made many announcements for the unauthorised colonies, slum clusters, katras, urbanised villages, rural villages etc. which will never be fulfilled.  The Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia had in a meeting with the Chief Minister in May 2011 advised her to frame long term water supply plan for Delhi.  But in place of framing such plan the Chief Minister has started privatisation of water supply.

Miserable condition of the Hospitals of Delhi

Delhi Government is responsible for tragic death of 14 children - Vijender Gupta

Holding Delhi Government responsible for tragic death of 14 children in Kalawati Saran Hospital, BJP has demanded compensation of five lakh rupees each to the family members of the deceased children and registering case of criminal negligence against the persons responsible for the death.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta told that the condition of the hospitals of Delhi & Central Governments are miserable.  Here corruption, negligence, arbitrariness and favouritism hold complete sway.  Those people who are rich are given proper treatment. The common man is left at the mercy of God.  Conditions are so bad that the heart patients who go the emergency ward for treatment are told to arrange for two to three lakh rupees immediately.  The patients of those families which do not arrange for it are left to die.

It may be mentioned that in Kalawati Saran Hospital on the 14th October, 2011 seven children died within 60 minutes in the night who were suffering from fever.  In the beginning hospital administration did not take it seriously.  When the media became active only then the hospital administration and Delhi Government awakened.  After ordering for an enquiry into this matter Chief Ministers of Delhi and the Central Governments Minister's think to have completed their responsiblity.  It is surprising that within the last 24 hours seven more children died due to high fever.  Now no responsible person of the hospital administration or Delhi Government is ready to take the responsibility for the death of the children.  On this Deepawali there is atmosphere of gloom in 14 houses but the Government is not worried at all.

At present thousands of people are becoming victim of water borne diseases due to supply of contaminated water in Delhi.  There is no arrangement for emergency treatment of patients in the hospitals.  If the numbers of patients admitted to the private hospitals is added then this number will be in several thousands.

Circle rates will be increased for the second time within seven months

Government is increasing the circle rates only to benefit the land mafia - Vijender Gupta

After depriving the common man of his bread & butter due to corruption and price spiral now the anti people Congress Government of Delhi is going to crush the hopes of the people to get a roof over their heads.  Just after seven months Delhi Government is going to increase the circle rates in the capital by 60 to 200 percent.  Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has approved this proposal of heavy increase in the circle rates.  After this increase the minimum price of land in Delhi will be 30 thousand rupees per meter.  Strongly opposing the proposal of Delhi Government to increase the circle rates, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has appealed to the people of Delhi to start movement together with BJP to protest against the increase in the circle rates by the Government.

Delhi Government had increased the circle rates by 100% in February this year.  It had created a new super rich category in the circle rates.  The rates in this circle was increase from Rs. 43 thousand per meter to Rs. 1 lakh 25 thousand per meter.  Due to strong opposition from the people this category was abolished.  In Delhi the circle rates for the A-category colonies is 86 thousand rupees per meter.  The minimum circle rates in H-category colonies is 13,800 rupees per meter.  If the rates are revised according to the new proposal then the rate for A-category colony will be Rs. 1,72,000 per meter.  It will not be possible for the common man to purchase land at such high rates.  The dream of 49% of the people of Delhi to have a house of their own will remain unfulfilled.  This will adversely affect the economic and social conditions of Delhi.

Shri Gupta further told that the Delhi Government is playing in the hands of land mafia.  It is worried about the land and building mafia hence the circle rates have increased.  49% people of Delhi do not have houses of their own.  Such people live in rented houses  and spend 40% of their income on it.  The house rent is also increased every year by the land lords in Delhi.  During the last five years house rent have increased by three times.  Those houses which were available at the rent of Rs. 3 thousand per month now the rent of these two room houses is 9 to 10 thousand rupees per month.  Due to this the budget of the people have been disturbed because the income of the people have not increased.  The entire earning is spent on house rent and food items.  The education of the children and the health of the family have been adversely affected.

The only objective of chief Minister in dividing MCD is to establish her political authority - Vijender Gupta

New Delhi 16th Oct. criticizing the statement of Chief Minister of Delhi on the issue of trifurcation of MCD the BJP Delhi Pradesh President Sh. Vijender Gupta had said that central Govt. has not taken any decision on this subject. The Chief Minister is misleading the people, political game. Shir Gupta was addressing the people present on the inauguration of road construction work in secot-18, Rohini in today.

If the Chief Minister was confident about the justification of the trifurcation of MCD than why see did not take the people of Delhi in to confidence. This is only an exercise to take political advantage bye if regarding the interest in the people. This is also a move to divert the attention of the people of Delhi from the bungling of thousands of crores in commonwealth Games.

Sh. Gupta has also demanded that the Central Govt. should keep in mind the interest of the people of Delhi before taking decision on the trifurcation of MCD.

The people of Delhi should be ready for paying higher taxes and run from peeler to post. If this anti people proposal of the chief minister is implemented than the administrative expanse on the three proposed corporation will increase by about 1000 crorors to be born by the people of Delhi besides facing harassment.

Pradesh President told that even at Present Corporation is divided in to 12 zones where all the works connected with the people are done. According to the provisions of the MCD act every zonal office is a mini corporation in its area. With this arrangement the administration of MCD is already be centralized and the people get the service at their doors.

Sh. Gupta told that the plan behind trifurcation of MCD is to and the political importantants of Central Govt. and the anti of Delhi and establish her political monopoly. The proof of this fact is opposition by the Congress party to this move.

Sh. Gupta added that due to the trifurcation of MCD the Corporations will become financially week because the expenditure will be more than the revenue especially is the east Delhi zone which is still backward. The reason is that the tax collection by the MCD is very nominal against the expenditure in curbed by the MCD. Either the taxes will have to be increased their or the development work will almost stop because at present the rest of MCD zones makeup the expenditure on development in that area. The other consequences will be that the persons capable of paying tax may migrate to other areas because lack of development in this area. Due to this east Delhi will become more backward due to the fall in the number of tax payers.

The Chairman of the Standing Committee Sh. Yogender Chandolia, Member of the Standing Committee and Councillor Vijay Prakash Pandey and the representatives of RWAs were present on the occasion of inauguration of Road Construction works in Sector-18, Rohini.

Sheila Dikshit should issue white paper on water

Government wants to privatise water supply by forming Delhi Water Regulatory Commission - Vijender Gupta

New Delhi, 15th October.  Terming the decision of Delhi Government to form Delhi Water Regulatory Commission as a conspiracy, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has said that after forming this Commission Delhi Government will fully privatise water supply which will adversely affect the interests of the people of Delhi.  The intentions of the Government are not good hence it is taking steps surreptitiously in the direction of privatising water.

Shri Gupta has demanded the Chief Minister that adopting a transparent and public oriented attitude on the issue of water supply in Delhi she should immediately issue a white paper which should contain true and clear picture of the water supply, condition of Water Treatment Plants etc. in view of the population of Delhi.  Delhi Government should also invite objections and suggestions from the people of Delhi before forming Delhi Water Regulatory Commission so that the views of the people may not be disregarded.  In democratic system the opinion of the people is of prime importance, Delhi Government wants to make the people crave for drops of water by taking control of the water provided by nature.

It may be mentioned that the people of Delhi are facing the grave consequences of privatisation of power. Even after paying high price for power, people of Delhi are not getting good and uninterrupted power.  People are feeling to have been cheated.  After the formation of Delhi Water Regulatory Commission, it is certain that people of Delhi will have to face many difficulties because this will be dominance of bureaucracy.  The bureaucracy will protect the interests of the Government companies supplying water in place of protecting the interests of people as has been seen in the case of power.

Delhi Government has privatised water supply in Malviya Nagar, Vasant Vihar and Nangloi.  It is the intention of Government that water supply should be privatised fully in South Delhi and after that privatise it in entire Delhi gradually and get rid of this responsibility.  The billing work has already been privatised.  The people are facing grave consequences of it.  People are being served bills which are ten times higher than the normal bills deliberately.  When the harassed people contact the related officers for getting it corrected then they are told to firstly pay the bill only after that their complaint will be heard.  But after that the grievances are not entertained.

Shri Gupta told that he has confirmed information that at the instance of Chief Minister the DJB is going to hand over water supply of Delhi to a defamed multi-national company which has already been put in black list by many countries of the world.  In the countries in which these companies had taken the contract of supplying water the people are being looted.  People were served bills of lakhs of rupees without being supplied water.  The distribution of water is also unequal.  People are crying for the supply of water.  This will be the condition in Delhi also after privatisation.

Sheila Dikshit should ascertain the views of the people before trifurcation of M.C.D. - Vijender Gupta

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded that before the finalisation of proposed trifurcation of the MCD, the Government must ascertain the views of the people of Delhi because the trifurcation of MCD will adversely affect the development and future of Delhi.

He told that the statements and conduct of the Chief Minister of Delhi indicate that the Government is not worried about the development of Delhi.  Under a conspiracy Sheila Dikshit wants to weaken the MCD and grab its powers.  In democratic system the objections and suggestions of people are taken before deciding on big issues.  Before the privatisation of power in Delhi, the objections and suggestions were invited from the people.  Whenever Government takes any policy decision it certainly makes the people a party to that decision. It will be possible only when the Government puts the complete plan of trifurcation on the website and publication in all leading newspapers to invite the suggestions from the people.

The behaviour of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on the issue of trifurcation it appears she has become so much adamant and it is clear that she is taking a policy decision for its own sake. There is no need of the views of 1.5 crore people of Delhi.  Shri Gupta told that before the trifurcation Sheila Dikshit should provide sufficient time to the people for giving their views and suggestions.  In this connection the Government should come with the detail plan how this plan of Sheila Dikshi will benefit to the people of Delhi and how the development of Delhi will be ensured.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President has raised a question to the Sheila Dikshit that the Central Home Ministry has not taken any final decision with regard to the trifurcation of MCD.  In such situation why the Sheila Dikshit is in so much haste that it is taking arbitrary decisions without waiting for the views of the Home Ministry and the people of Delhi.  He further told that the people want to know that after trifurcation of MCD how its financial needs will be fulfilled.  It is possible that any of the three Corporations may become financially weak and other financial stronger.  If it happenes then there will not be uniform development of Delhi.  Disparities will increase in Delhi.  The people will also face shortage of amenities.  He has demanded the Central and Delhi Governments that before the trifurcation of MCD they should inform the people of Delhi about their assessment of the financial conditions, advantages and disadvantages from the trifurcation through advertisements and a final decision should be taken only after considering the objections and suggestions of the people in this regard.

Essential services adversely affected in Delhi due to power load shedding

BJP PRADESH PRESIDENT WRITES TO CENTRAL ENERGY MINISTER FOR ADDITIONAL SUPPLY OF POWER TO DELHI

In a letter written to the Central Energy Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta has demanded that he should ensure sufficient supply of power to Delhi from the national grid otherwise Delhi will be paralyzed due to failure of the essential public services. Water supply in Delhi has also being affected due to power shortage. Even the DTC buses are not coming out of the deports due to it. Delhi Metro Rail services have also been curtailed due to shortage of power.

Shri Gupta told that the Central and Delhi Congress Governments are not supplying sufficient power to about 1.5 crore people of Delhi for the last 10 days. Delhi Government is holding the neighbouring states responsible for shortage of power. Now the Chief Minister has requested the Central Government to intervene in the matter. The role of DERC is of a mute spectator whereas DERC can directly intervene in this case. The role of the DERC is not only to increase power tariff in Delhi.

Due to load shedding, the booster pumps of the people living on higher floors are not working. They are craving for even a glass of water. The main pipeline of DJB in Jal Vihar is not working. Wazirabad WTP, Haiderpur WTP and all the WTPs of Delhi are not working to its capacity. Due to this there is acute shortage of water in Gopalpur, Jagatpur, Mukherji Nagar, Azadpur, Jahangirpuri, Rajouri Garden, Tilak Nagar, Vishnu Garden, Tagore Garden, Hari Nagar, Subhash Nagar, Tihar Village, Maya Enclave, Janakpuri, Ashok Nagar, Ramesh Nagar, Kirti Nagar, Bali Nagar, Basai Darapur, Sudarshan Park, Sarai Kale Khan, I.P. Extention, Kasturba Nagar, Sangam Vihar, Mehrauli, Chhatarpur, Malviya Nagar, Saket, Vasant Kunj, Ambedkar Nagar, Sonia Vihar, Nizamuddin, Jangpura, Bhogal, Mubarakpur, Lodhi Colony, Defence Colony, Jal Vihar Colony, Kotala Mubarakpur and dozens of other areas.

Due to shortage of power, the CNG stations are not working to their capacity in filling gas in the vehicles. The cluster bus service has also been adversely affected. These buses get gas from Ambedkar Nagar depot. But the depot is not filling gas in the buses due to power failure. About 70 buses are not plying due to it. All the 70 CNG stations of DTC are adversely affected. The effect of power failure is also being seen on the industry and trade of Delhi. The traders are facing great problems because Diwali shopping has been badly affected.

Shri Gupta told that Delhi Government cannot escape responsibility by holding the UP Government responsible for it because only 3500mw power is given to the UP from northern grid which has population of 20 crore people. UP has to do with it. The population of Delhi is only 1.5 crore and arrangements have been made for 5000mw power. Yet there is undeclared load shedding. Even the Coal Minister is also issuing false statements. Coal Ministry is supplying wet coal to Delhi due to which the quality of power is affected. If the problem of power is not solved immediately then the water treatment plants will stop working. If street light fails crime will increase. During the Commonwealth Games, Government had promised that Delhi will get 2000mw power from the gas based power plants being constructed by it. Not a single power plant has been completed as yet.

Shri Gupta has demanded the Central Energy Minister that by exercising his influence he should give special status to Delhi and arrange additional power because Delhi is the capital of India. If power supply fails here then the credit of the country is affected. If power failure continues in Delhi and lines trip again and again and frequency fluctuates then power equipments may become defective. Shri Gupta has demanded Shri Shinde that he should fix additional quota for Delhi so that the capital may not face shortage of power in future.
